Going from working term time to full time?

I have 3 children who will all be in school from september.
I hate my job, I work term time, I feel like they make all these promises and it never follows through. No room for progression, say they'll do things and take it away last minute and the environment is just toxic. I hate it and its giving me major anxiety going back in sept when I know ill just be walking into a sh*t show.
I want a change of career, out of education in something that I can manage my load better, and actually have some consistency. My work is stressful and I come home and im just done with the world.
Apologies.. I feel like I really needed a rant..so back to my point.

Those who work full time, how do you manage the half terms and summer hols? I am a solo parent so I cannot rely on someone else. And I have no "village". Do you find it easy enough finding childcare cover for the holidays with school age children?

It's not easy or cheap but it's doable. Would you get any universal credit help with childcare? How old are your children?

I do currently get universal credit as a slight top up as i use it to help pay for breakfast club, and when my youngest was in nursery they helped toward that too so id imagine id still be able to do that

most people with children are doing the holiday juggle now, usually taking two weeks in the summer then a week at Christmas (holiday childcare is rarely available between Christmas and new year) splitting the only leave between other holidays. If there’s a father they should be taking doing holiday cover too, and pull in favours to reduce your bill eg my mum covered one week per year for me by taking annual leave herself. Sometimes you can swop with friends doing one week all kids and the following week they take them all. It’s a juggle until they can be left.

Honestly I’d stick at it, if your a single parent with no village, the holiday clubs just don’t cut it…. Especially with 3 children as it’s unlikely they’ll all be able to attend the same one, so you’re talking multiple drop offs, the start/end times for our local ones aren’t great either, understandably they fit school hours not work.

You’re just swapping one stress for another.
