Eurocamp advice please!

Has anyone been to a Eurocamp on holiday? If so, do they allow people to reserve sun loungers by the pool with their towels at the crack of dawn?! We are about to go to one, have never been before, and I’m desperately hoping it’s not like that…! 🤞🏻

All the French campsites I have been to don't even open the pool until 9am / 10am so you can't get in with your towel any earlier than that.

For most sites (maybe all, I don’t know) eurocamp do not own or run the site itself. They rent the pitches, and run their own kids’ clubs (on some sites) but the pool and general campsite facilities aren’t theirs to control.

So it would depend completely on the management of the site you went to, rather than a blanket answer for all I’m afraid.

We go on Eurocamp holidays every year and have never come across anyone reserving sun beds.

The pools usually open at 10am and it’s normally very chilled out, people aren’t queuing or anything.

Similarly, at the French sites we’ve been to the pool areas are fenced off and don’t open until 10. At some there has been a small queue waiting to go in at 10. We’ve found at the bigger sites in high season, so July and August, you may struggle to find lots of free sunbeds after 11:30 but most of them also have areas without sunbeds where you can lay your towels out.

I’ve heard some sites have a system where periodically the lifeguards blow a whistle and everyone has to go back to their sunbeds. Towels and belongings get removed from any sunbeds with no one next to them. Which I think is a great idea and more places should do it.

I've not had any issues with people reserving sun loungers. Have generally found them really good.

Op forgive me but I always feel the need to explain this as I didn't realise a few years ago.
Euro camp has increeible marketing but usually what they are is rented space on someone else's camp site.

Eg sunshine campsite is avtually owned by me and I have my own really nice vans ,spacoiusly laid out etc in a nice area then i rent space to euro camp vans often cheaper but crammed in and less nice and other van providers .

We’ve had some lovely Eurocamp holidays, I wouldn’t say you get less nice accommodation, but it is possible to get the equivalent cheaper through Yelloh or whoever, especially right at the end of our summer holidays when French schools go back.
I’ve not seen people reserving sun loungers, but do check if the pool requires Speedo-style swimming trunks!

1985goingbackagain · 10/08/2026 17:28

We’ve been on a few Eurocamp type holidays. Where we have been, people have been much more active so aren’t generally by the pool all day-they might go out then back to the pool in the afternoon or vice versa so we’ve never had issues. Guess it depends on where you are going though.

MyDogClive · 10/08/2026 17:40

Because most people drive to Eurocamp, they don’t necessarily spend every day of their holiday by the pool. It’s easier to get out and about and do things off site - so that helps a bit with the pressure on sunbeds.

Yes, I worked for eurocamp one summer and every family expect one had a car, either driven from home or a rental. And it wasn’t really a “stay by the pool all day” kind of holiday for most people, even though it was a very nice pool in the south of France.

Holidaytips · 10/08/2026 17:49

It depends- we stayed in one in Italy where people did try and save sun beds but the lifeguards were good at noticing and removing them if you weren't in the pool area. Less people had cars at that one though.

ScaryM0nster · 10/08/2026 17:52

Have a read of the info about your particular site - they’re generally very chilled family focussed sites and bagging Sun loungers doesn’t fit that style.

Dontwanttheseboobies · 10/08/2026 21:06

Thanks everyone for your advice, I appreciate it! I am actually planning on spending most of the time by the pool recovering from a knee injury whilst DH takes kids out and about!

We have just come back from a Eurocamp site in Spain and there was a big sign by the pool telling people not to reserve sunbeds
