I'm only just up & drinking my first cuppa of the day, in the conservatory, with dd2. I'm about to take my tablets, then sort them for the coming week.

Today will be a slow, moochy, kind of day here. I'll continue digging out the bindweed as much as I can, further up the garden, and spend some time tidying/deadheading my big pot out the front of the house. I'll pick the toms and check on my strawbs too.

I'm not spending all day in the sun - I come out in an awful rash if I do - so plan to continue my crochet project later on & maybe have a walk to Lidl. Although, maybe I'll send the girls to Lidl & just crochet 🤔.

Dd2's not sure what she's doing yet - I suggested looking for new trainers & a bag for her college things since hers broke not long before the end of school. I think I'll leave dd1 a little longer, but not much...dd2 says she was still scrolling online at 7am when she nipped to the loo!

We're having roast chicken for tea. Planned to be a roast but maybe not - I think it might be better with salady bits & some crusty bread.

Tonight, I'll see if anyone fancies a game of 221B before picking up my book for a couple of hours.

What about all of you? 🙂

Afternoon all, we’ve been swimming and we had a bike ride today before stopping for a picnic.

We’ve got a busy week coming up and school starts next wednesday, so we’re going to get all the school bits sorted and ready today.

@MarmaladeSandwich7 I hope she’s doing better soon.

Thank you 😊

Evening all!

We’ve had a lovely weekend, my friend and his wife and kids have come down from Newcastle to visit.

We met when he came down as a teenager on a YTS and lodged with my godmother so we’ve been mates for 30 years now. We tend to see each other twice a year and it’s so lovely.

When they come down they bring the kids as we have a pool so the kids call it their ‘London Holiday’ and we chill and hang out in the garden. Last night my brother and his family, and my godmother and godfather (who he lived with) came over and we had a BBQ.

DP and I then go up without our kids (older teens) and we have nights out on the ‘toon - it works really nicely.

So they left about 5 and now DP are enjoying the peace as little kids are gorgeous and funny but LOUD! My boys are in their rooms chilling after being fun ‘uncles’ all weekend.

We had a Sunday lunch today and there’s leftovers from the whole weekend so if people want dinner later there’s lasagne, BBQ or a roast to choose from. It’s definitely a fend for yourself situation - I’ve officially put my feet up!

I’ve had a challenging weekend.

In 2016 DH and I joined SW and both lost weight really well for about 18 months. He reached his target having lost 12 stone - half his original body weight, and I lost almost 4 of my 7 stone hope. Although DH managed to maintain all through Covid, the return to socialising has both hit us hard and we’ve both put significant weight on. I’m back to where I was pre May 2016, but now I’m 10 years older and menopausal, with an under performing thyroid, a sneaky kidney stone and T2D.

All of that to say that I took 9 bags of clothes to the textile bins at the tip yesterday and another 10 today. All clothes that fit me 2017-2023. But now I have room to put all the massive clothes that fit me.

I seem to be at my body’s resting weight. When I eat as I wish - pretty good main meal diet but too many sweet things between - I don’t change weight as I am, but any less, I have to be really really careful if I don’t want to gain weight. But that kind of restrictive eating just makes me really sad, and social eating - either at friends’ houses or out and about- is really hard. DH is newly GF; that’s hard enough for him without me causing trouble about what I do and don’t want to eat.

I feel pretty sad about it all, tbh.
