Monday is my only full day to myself since I don't know when! DD is out and DH is on late shift so will be sleeping. Obviously I can't tidy up as it might wake him 🤭

I'm planning on slobbing on the sofa with a cuppa and a book.

What book should I read?! 😃

What kind do you normally like?
I can't stop recommending I Who Have Never Known Men but it honestly left such a lasting effect on me. It's depressing but the best book I've read in a long time..

I’m enjoying Ruth Jones’ novels at the moment. But I can also recommend The Diary of a Provincial Lady by EM Delderfield. It’s very funny.
Suzy Dent’s novels are also good.

Oh I liked the Death of Mrs Westaway too. I'm reading May We Feed The King right now which is really good. Quite short so you could read it in a day

Noddy and the Magic Rubber.

A gripping tale of what could happen should a magic rubber get into the wrong hands (don't have sleepless nights, it is just fiction), and Tubby Bear runs amok with it.

Bonjour Tristesse, always this. I read it once a year, alone in the summer and immediately transported to Juan Les Pins in the south of France (not that I’ve ever been) it’s an easy read, beautifully written, full of love, revenge, and foolhardy beautiful youth. All sea, salt, sunshine and a lot of regret!

Do you already have unread books or will you need to obtain one?

Are you planning to buy new or are you wanting to go to the library or charity shop? How will you get the book by Monday?

Do you want a shorter book you can finish in one day?

What sort of book do you want? Fun, summer read, dark crime, worthy literature?

Without knowing the above it's hard to say. My tastes are somewhat varied and problem considered lowbrow by MN.

Books I've enjoyed recently are Lucky Day by Beth Morrey, The Eights by Joanna Miller and popular crime books like Peter James, Anne Cleeves etc.
