What small but useful thing have you learnt recently?

Me and DD were making some cookies the other day and trying to flatten the baking paper is a pain as it’s cut from a roll. DD said to scrunch it up first then it will go flat and it worked. She said they do that at school. Only a small thing but useful.

Recently learnt that in Europe it is generally accepted that you walk on the same side of the pavement as you would drive on the road, so in Europe people mostly walk on the right hand side on pavements, the beach, walkways, anywhere you pass people - it’s automatic, and it works, things just flow and I can’t un-see it now I know.

I never knew this, lived in Germany and Netherlands for 5 years and always wondered why I struggled to make progress among crowds in towns, on pavements, everywhere.

(Amusing to watch Brits now on pavements in Spain for example)

Probably shouldn’t admit this, but have managed just by stealth alone to get everyone to routinely walk on the left in the gym corridors (UK).

I wish we could adopt it more generally here.

I've only recently found out that you can set up your iPhone with voice control so you can say something like “say cheese” and it will take a photo instead of struggling to find the shutter button when you're taking a group selfie or something. Game changing. Grin

Eh? I thought it was universally acknowledged here already that you walk on the left side of the pavement. At least, that's what I've always done/experienced (ignoring people who walk side by side and block the whole path, but that's commly seen as v annoying).

Something I saw on here once: when swallowing a tablet, tip your head FORWARD and it will go down easily- it works!

Ooh I didn’t know that! I’m going to try this.

Yes I always do this, better with a small amount of water than a large gulp too.

Air fryer, not that small Sorry!

Tip head forward for capsules and back for tablets. However your throat is more open in the forward position
