How many towels for shower and hair wash?

I’ve noticed a number of times when staying at a hotel or Airbnb that there is only one towel per guest or sometimes one bath towel and one hand towel each. So I’m wondering what other people do when they wash their hair and whether what I do isn’t usual.

At home I wrap myself in a large towel or bath sheet and when I wash my hair I wrap it in a separate towel. So only having one is inconvenient.

What do you do? Is it unusual to need two towels?

I only use one towel but as it's curly I never wrap it.

I put on a towelling bathrobe, and a microfibre turban. No towels needed.

At home I just use one but at work or the gym I use two, probably cos it’s always hotter there and I need to stop my hair dripping while I dry my body

One towel for my body and I have a hair wrap towel thing for my hair. My DD tends to air dry without a towel but wraps her waist length wavy hair in something. I always bring a face cloth as most places don’t have them and I always use one!
Edited to add I have an Airbnb and we provide two towels per person and there are extra in the cupboard.

1 standard towel.

I have long hair, I need one bath sheet one medium towel and one hand towel of we stay at an Airbnb.
my DH has no hair he just needs a bath towel.

3 - Body, shoulders and hair.

I use one. I dry my body then wrap my hair in it like a turban. If it’s a big towel I just fold it in two. I just walk out of the en-suite naked, my body’s dry.

Shoulders? Is that not part of your body

I've always used one. What do you do with 2? Do you walk around in towels? I'm confused. I dry my face and shoulders, pat my hair dry with the towel then carry on and dry the rest of my body, get dressed then leave the shower room. What should I be doing with a second towel?

I use two at home but can manage with one. While still in the shower with the water off use the towel to dry your hair a bit so it isn't dripping. Then use the same tower to dry yourself.

If I've guests I'd always leave out 2 towels.

I just use 1.
Even after reading all these comments I'm still not really sure why 2 are needed! But I do accept I'm in the minority.

I usually take a head towel with me. One towel pp is ungenerous in any paid accommodation. Also irks me when they only provide small towels, as if cotton is rationed. I can wrap myself in a bath towel but a bath sheet is nicer. Some people don't seem to understand the difference.

I use just one. I dry myself - no wrapping - and then squeeze my hair gently with the same towel.

I have curly/ wavy hair and don't wrap it.

Two - 1 X bath towel and 1 X hair towel

I like to use 3 towels. One for my hair obviously, one to wrap around me so I’m not cold, and one to sit on while I dry.

Its impossible to get dry with wet hair touching my neck/back so when I go away I’ll usually take my own hair towel.

Well, you don’t want to dry your face with a towel you’ve been using to dry your crevices, do you? I leave my face to air dry, use one towel for hair and upper body, and one for lower body.
