Drying washing

There has been a number of threads but most seem to recommend and use the Meaco dehumidifiers which I understand are excellent. However, I'm looking for it for laundry purposes only so am looking at the Pro Breeze 12L Quiet Dehumidifier with 2.5L Water Tank.

Does anyone have this and can recommend? It's £70 cheaper in Argos currently but if I'm going to end up buying a Meaco then I'd be as well from the start!

Pro-Breez

No experience of the Pro Breeze, however the tank size seems very small. I have a Meaco Arete 20l and although I prefer to line dry my washing it's very good on laundry mode for drying washing when needed.

Have you ever exceeded 2.5 litres on a single load of washing?

No tbh I haven't. However it does extract at a very good rate. I honestly don't think my dehumidifier has ever extracted 2.5 litres (I only have it on overnight in the winter months, or when I need to dry washing if I'm unable to do so outside). However I can confirm it has completely got rid of any condensation issues I used to suffer from and it is very economical. I'm not sure the relationship between tank capacity and extraction rate if anything, but I'm more than happy on the occasional times I've used it for laundry drying (it has a certain setting particularly for this)

I was wondering what happens when the tank is full, is there an alert or does it just stop working?. I'm looking at the Arete 12L (is that litres?), which is confusing as the tank holds 2.5 litres! Anyway, if you have one and dry a wash load say overnight, is the 2.5 tank big enough? Not a lot of stuff to wash here as, there's only me, but I hate trying to dry clothes in the Winter, and just do not want a tumble dryer as space is limited anyway.

Thanks for any help out there from those who know...

We have a Pro Breeze (although not this model). It has been excellent for the last 5 years so highly recommend the brand. It switches itself off when the tank is full, which is not going to be the case unless its running for quite a long time. It makes a massive difference to drying the washing, reducing condensation and taking the dampness out of a room

Well FWIW my ecoair dessicant dehumidifier, when new, used to extract about 1.25L when drying a single load of washing for 4 hours. It's now 10 years old though and typically only manages about half that much. I'm not sure if that reduction is due to the dehumidifier performance diminishing over time, or that I'm probably now using a faster spin speed on the wash. I guess it's likely to be a bit of both.

When the tank is full it turns itself off.

Thank you. This is helpful.

I've found it online for £87.99 so I think I'm going to take a punt. I had two loads in the drying cupboard with a small oil filled radiator for about 12 hours and it still wasn't dry?!

It's worth a go, now to think of the optimal set up.

12L is the extraction rate. They just stop when they're full.
