Nursery Key Worker Gifts

DC is starting P1 this month and will be leaving the most amazing nursery! DCs keyworker has been incredible over the last 3 years and we really can’t thank her enough - she always gone above and beyond for DC.

End of term and Christmas we always do a wee gift along with a card with a nice message for her.

I’m struggling this year for gift ideas 😓 Can anyone give any suggestions of things that have gone down well with their kids keyworkers/teachers? She has allergies so no food/drink related gifts please.

I'd get her a gift voucher either for somewhere that you know she likes or somewhere generic like John Lewis/Waitrose where she can choose from pretty much anything.

or M&S or Boots or Superdrug if they do gift vouchers ( I expect they do )

@NuffSaidSam @OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon I’ve always stayed away from gift vouchers as I feel awkward over what value to get 😅

Not sure on budget but you could go down the pamper route, hand cream/face mask/bath bomb or Lush set/candle (thank you one)? Amazon do thank you silver bracelets. You could also get DC to make something?

I’m an ex nursery nurse, I still have the homemade cards, or cards with a note in it, cards with a little photo in it. Some from children who would probably now have their own children!

By far my favourite gift over the years Star

I’d say a voucher is more useful to her. And as for value do what you can afford. £25 would buy some nice bits if that’s in budget. A nice handmade card to go with it.
or make your own hamper up but that would probably cost more
A beauty box from Look Fantastic is about £35

DD1 works in a similar field, has done for 8 years.

She was happy with a £5 Costa gift card, it buys a nice milkshake !
very happy to receive a £10 Amazon card - didn't realise it was £10 until she went to spend it, had thought it was £5.
and was over the moon with a £25 M&S gift card !

Please don't give a pot plant, unless the key worker is ' of a certain ' age ' :) as I am still ' nurturing ' the 5 she got last summer, and killed this summer's one already.

@olivetty Thank you ☺️ I went down the pamper route before, along with a gift handmade by DC so was hoping for something else this year ☺️
That went down v.well though ☺️

@familyissues12345 Thats lovely to hear that you still have them ☺️ DC always does a drawing along with the card. DCs keyworker is amazing and has gone so far above and beyond, particularly at the start when DC had severe separation anxiety.

@menopausequeen Thank you. I don’t have a set budget in mind to be honest. She’s been incredible for DC so I’d happily give her the world 🤣 but I also am conscious of being too OTT!

@OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon Keyworker is late 20s and I don’t know that she has any interest in gardening/plants so I’ll be avoiding that one 🤣
I think I’m going to go M&S voucher - she’s recently moved house so may even want to get some homeware or can use it on what she fancies! ☺️
