I'm 28, 29 in autumn. I dont think I look old no major fine lines some tiny ones I see when I'm dehydrated etc but no fine lines. I still struggle with oily skin tbh!

Its random my SIL i met when she was 30 and now she's 37 nearly 38 and still looks great I havent analysed her face or anything but when you look at her she'd still look early 30s maybe late 20s (would ask her some tips but she's a bit grumpy no offence and not chatty I wouldn't know how to approach her haha)

I feel like creams and purchases can be a bit meh. Im talking about microneedling retinol peels Light therapy etc

Botox when I'm in 30s?

Give me all your favourite treatments! My mums friend is a nurse who does medical grade stuff but facials too

I wouldn't know anything about treatments I’m afraid

My grandad bathed in buttermilk and his gp said hed never seen such baby skin on an 85year old
He was a herder so lots of cows
He didn’t have any running water
so needs must
😁
Moral of that story is make like Cleopatra

At 60 I don’t have thin skin or lines under my eyes or crows feet and my neck is just as it’s always been
I’m grey, but that’s it

I put this down to never holidaying in the sun, ( luckily I hate it ) never sunbathing and moisturising every day since my early 20s
In my youth I used oil of Olay and Aloe Vera. I always wore factor 50 when out of the house
I used cocoa butter on my body

A friend said they thought my lack of eye area wrinkles was down to never wearing eye makeup and so not pulling my eyes about to clean it off. I don’t know if that’s a thing though

Hopefully you’ll get info on treatments by others

Noted - thank you! My eldest son is awaiting assessment for being on the spectrum and part of this is he hates the heat hates feeling too hot. So I'm usually out of the sun! Or on holiday lots of suncream on my to set my example to my kiddos❤️

Most important thing

DON'T SMOKE

Dont smoke or vape!

I do have to occasional Hugo or Aperol spritz though! Dont really like any other alcohol - so this isn't an issue is it?

Agree
and from the nli

Tobacco
Change skin cuticle thickness, accelerate skin pigmentation and skin necrosis.

Alcohol
Promote the proliferation of keratinocytes, change the skin permeability, destroy the barrier function of the skin, affect the skin lipid composition.

Sugar and baked goods
Associated with reduction in skin thickness, AGEs, autophagy, and inflammation.

Causes of skin ageing are:
Sun (UV rays) responsible for 90% of skin aging.
Smoking - 5%
The rest being lack of sleep, poor diet, sugar, traffic pollution etc.

Ohohpheliaa1 · 04/08/2026 21:16

Lack of sleep currently working on as my kids are older and sleeping better!

Avoid sun and will be avoiding sugar in general as type 2 diabetes is running in my family

So these are good tips! Hopefully can stay on top of it x

The sun really is so aging...I met a woman recently who spent her life working as a gardener.... obviously I didn't say anything as it would have been so rude but I was so shocked at how old she looked for her age. I don't mean that in a bitchy way.
