Good Morning! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just finishing my first cuppa, in my conservatory spot. No cat to keep me company today, and no dd2 to talk through my favourite part of the weekend day!

I had a quick tidy round & took out the recycling while the kettle boiled, and will wash up shortly ish. Need to take my tablets, sort them for the week, and order mine and dd2's repeat prescriptions first.

We don't have any plans for the day, I don't think so it'll be a day of pottering between house and garden, and crochet, for me. I have a project to sew together before I make a start on the next one.

The girls will likely avoid doing anything helpful by watching more of The Rookie 🙄. They do however, need to tidy and at least hoover their room!

Gammon for tea this evening, followed by some sort of dessert - maybe I'll get round to making something 🤔.

What about all of you? 🙂

Good morning @lucysmam & the Sunday crew. Loving a lazy Sunday morning. Made a cuppa for me & DH around 7.30 & am still in bed., although I did go downstairs briefly to eat Friday’s leftover risotto! DH has had a shower & after his breakfast will clean out the rabbits. I’m building up to a shower, hair wash & blow dry. Need to clean the kitchen surfaces, do the dishwasher & hoover all through. It will be manic but I need to pop to Asda for a few bits, including something for tea as I decided against doing a pork roast. Visiting DM late afternoon as she might be taken out by DF. Haven’t seen her for a week. If I can get motivated I will photograph some more clothes & shoes to upload on Vinted. Found a beautiful black Coast dress that I bought in the charity shop & forgotten that I’d hung on the side of the wardrobe, under my dressing gown. Wish it was my size as it’s so well cut. Have a great day all ❤️

Good morning lucysmam and others. I had breakfast earlier -toast and coffee- then a quick trip to Aldi to pick up what I forgot yesterday. I made raspberry jam yesterday which turned out well. I have boeuf bourgignon in the slow cooker and a large school cake in the oven. That's the one with sprinkles on top. Then I will make peanut butter cookies for dgs1 and chocolate chip cookies for dgs2. I might make a sticky gingerbread from the Bero recipe book too. Everything else is done for tomorrow. Have a good day all.

I havent made it for ages but just fancied it. To be honest, most of it will go to the family but I'm a feeder so happy with that!

What time is that on these days?

AnnaQuayRules · 02/08/2026 11:04

I went to the beach at 08:30 to meet some friends for a swim. Then came home and made bacon baps for a late breakfast. I'm currently sitting in the garden with a cup of coffee.

DH is going sailing shortly, I will clean and tidy our bedroom (boring but it needs doing) and then lie out in the garden with a book. When DH gets home we'll eat dinner then maybe go in the hot tub for an hour

Thislittlekitten · 02/08/2026 11:14

Morning @lucysmam and the Sunday Gang

Ive had a shower and made breakfast for DD and her friends. On my second cup of tea and building up to drying my hair. Hate doing it and it’s not even a long job.

DH as walked the dog. I have fed him and our cats. It’s funny we have two and one is very much a homebody and the other a wanderer but he’s been hanging about the house all week and being quite friendly and coming into all the rooms more. It’s nice.

This afternoon meeting family for a big dog walk. DH is staying behind to do a big shop and make streak pie for tea.

I finished two books this weekend so I have no excuse not to concentrate on some course work. I’ll pop to the library tomorrow. Enjoy your day guys.

CheapFoodShits · 02/08/2026 11:33

Morning everyone.
Just got back from a lovely walk in the park with DPs. We do it every weekend, stopping off for a coffee and toast at the café. Today was lovely though, because DS (14) actually chose to go with us rather than stay home festering in his teenager-ness like he usually does. We all had a go on the exercise equipment too which was fun.

Now waiting for my Sainsbury's delivery so I can do some batch cooking- Bugger! I forgot to buy tubs! Guess I'm going to buy tubs too!

Need to do a big sort out too, ready to go to the tip on Tuesday.

Other than that, just reading and relaxing!

11am now

Tiddlywinks63 · 02/08/2026 11:39

Good morning @lucysmam and followers, late again today 😁
I have been for coffee with my lovely friend along the road, had a good natter,
washed the floors, dusted the living room, finished packing my bag for hospital, lasagna is in the oven. I need to fill the bird feeders, tidy my Shed and the kitchen then that’s pretty much me done for today.
I’m going to have a quiet afternoon doing more sashiko.
I hope you all have a lovely week x

gingercat02 · 02/08/2026 12:15

Just back from PiYo, having a prebiotic protein drink that I'm trialling (it's not great!)
Salmon salad for DH and me for lunch, DS is at the cinema to see Spiderman.
I'm in the garden and it's beautiful so maybe a BBQ for tea.
Need to nip to Boundry Outlet for towels, as they have a sale on, and pick up some buns for said bbq.
Might (very much might) cut the bushes in the front garden

Megsdaughter · 02/08/2026 12:34

Up at 7 but it took me till 9 to move off the sofa as was reading my book. Drank a litre of water and took my tablets. DH drank 2 coffees before heading outside to weed the stones in the front garden.
Finally moved and showered washed my hair and dried it. Went outsude to dead head the roses in the front garden then came in to sit for a while as I cant stand for long before being in pain. Had more water read anither chapter then emptied the dishwasher.
DH came in and hoovered and washed the kitchen floor. I sat at the table and peeled potatoes for later as we are having Roast Gammon, roast veg and roast potatoes for tea tonight.
Lunch was a salad bowl with a boiled egg chopped up in it and an apple to finish.
Now sat out in the garden MNing and picking out photos from the last 25 years to make a photo book up as its our Silver Wedding Anniversay in November. Cant finish it till after our holiday next month though. I have been doing it for 3 weeks already though. Going through Flickr over all that time is an endless task.

OneZanyCat · 02/08/2026 12:36

Hope hospital goes as well as it can @Tiddlywinks63

Just hoovered upstairs and cleaned the upstairs bathroom. DH is preparing Sunday lunch, he asked me earlier if I felt like a roast dinner as it was hot and the cat came at the speed of light and made it clear it can never be too hot for roast chicken. Then we are planting some plants we got from a plant nursery a couple of days ago and cleaning downstairs. DD is coming back from university later in the week so we are trying to get everything clean and tidy so she can add her stuff everywhere.

Isit2026yet · 02/08/2026 12:37

@lucysmam I’m having a duvet day after too much 🥂last night.

weegiemum · 02/08/2026 12:55

I’ve had a lazy morning, didn’t get up until 12 and was asleep for most of it. I’d a busy week last week and needed the rest.

so I’m up, and Dh made me a scrambled egg roll, one of my favourite breakfasts (and he hates scrambled egg but makes it wonderfully!).

Dh has gone out with the dog. I need to tidy round but nothing much needs done as ds is away for a few days with his mates. It really is him that makes all the mess!

Im going to take it easy though. I have a neurologist illness that makes me very fatigued, so everyday life really wears me out. I’ll have a shower when Dh gets back as I’m a bit wobbly on my feet today. Another busy week coming up - I have a monthly hospital treatment, and Saturday is my dd2’s baby shower/engagement party. That means my parents (who will stay in a hotel) and mil (staying with us) are arriving Fri lunchtime and I’ll have to entertain them! Luckily Dh has taken Friday off work and dds 1&2 are doing the shopping as the party is a bbq in our back garden.

Gosh that was a ramble! TLDR: I’m doing nothing today!

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 02/08/2026 13:08

I am trying to decide what to do with an injured pigeon I found which is currently in a box on my bedside table waiting for me to decide what to do with him.

His fate is in my hands.

There’s a wildlife sanctuary a few towns over. I’m hoping they’re open today or tomorrow.

lucysmam · 02/08/2026 14:14

Oh bless you @TheLightSideOfTheMoon , I hope poor pidge is comfortable. They're funny little creatures - we have several who come in the garden & strut about like they own the place!

Good afternoon @lucysmam and everyone. I'm late today because I wrote a post and then 'lost' it into the ether. Very frustrating!

I have:
Stripped and made my bed.
Done a couple of loads of laundry
Done lots of Vinted admin
Packaged up and sent a couple of Vinted parcels
Had lunch
Been reading (and nearly finished) one of the Anne McCaffrey books we picked up and I started reading yesterday.

Mr Dilemma has been up in the loft fishing out old comics and collectors magazines to sell and is listing those this afternoon.

We have a busy weekend ahead - culminating in a mammogram for me on Friday. I am both worried and relieved at the thought of it. Worried because it might pick up something nasty, and relieved because it might pick up something nasty. At least with only one boob left it will only be half as painful!

Mr Dilemma will be having a gammon steak this evening. I think I will have a calorie counted curry ready-meal.

lucysmam · 02/08/2026 15:25

Well...my mower has just died <sigh>, if anyone has any budget mower recommendations? Typical I replaced a part the other week too 🙄. I'm well on with de-bindweed-ing the next bit though now I'm on top of 3 sections. I split the long bit along the side into sections so I wasn't trying to do it all at once. Seems to have worked well & I'm slowly removing more and more bindweed roots as I go. I think it's going to become a veg strip - dd2's requested cucumbers and they're both keen for me us to try growing pumpkins.

I've started assembling my crochet project and picked the ripe toms too.

Sending the girls to the shop for ice creams and maybe a bottle or two of cider, then cooking with dd2, once the legs are on my highland cow.

DilemmaDelilah · 02/08/2026 16:07

My commiserations on your loss....

I really fancy an ice cream - and some cider - now! I very heroically resisted the urge to ask Mr Dilemma to get me some ice cream when he asked me if I wanted anything as he was going to the local shop... and I haven't been able to drink cider - or any alcohol - for several years....sigh.

Curry for supper though... I can look forward to that. And I think I have some (very old) sugar-free ice pops in the freezer.

Cantwaitforwinter · 02/08/2026 16:11

We’ve had a lazy day, kids have been gaming on their Switches, DP playing on his PC, we went on a nature walk and fed some squirrels.

Got all the towels and bedding washed and tidied up some of my plant pots in the garden.

DD is asking for McDonalds for dinner so I won’t even have to cook.
