Have you ever repurhased a property?

Has anyone ever moved back into a previous property. Not speaking of previous childhood homes you have inherited. More have you previously owned a property, sold it and then repurchased it? Just curious really. My previous property I lived in for 25 years, it's totally different from my current property. I would never move back, although my previous property had a lot more character, my new property is better located and nicer neighbours. It has taken me several years to be totally settled.

No, the properties I lived in worked for me at that particular time in my life. I sold them as my life/needs/wants changed. I will never be back to these phases and so will never need nor want to be back in those houses.

Why are you asking if you would never move back ?

I would love to move to my old house but it would be too expensive.

My old property was a period property and I moved to a different location, more rural. I love where I am now, but I have to admit I did struggle with it for first few years. I now think it's ridiculous I ever had these thoughts as I love my new property. I think a lot of it was initially due to the age of the property and character. My old property was a period terrace property, where as I now live in a detached bungalow built in the 1960s.
Also I recently bumped into an old aquantance who sold up and moved to Australia (this was about 20 years ago), she moved back after 18 months and her husband actually went round to their old house and offered to buy back the house for considerably more than they had sold it for. The new owners refused, they bought a different property and also settled eventually.

BIL moved out of a rental property to another job in another area of the UK. The job didn't work out, so he asked his former boss if there was any work going. There was so BIL moved back to the original job , and by pure chance the rental property was still available

If you love it where you are now that's all that's important.
My old house would be way out of my price range now but I'm happy where I am so I'm at peace with it. But if I won the lottery I might knock on the door ......
