Work feedback etiquette

Aibu to think work feedback (especially potentially negative feedback) is better delivered directly, rather than via someone's line manager? Partly because the context can be lost if the feedback is delivered via an intermediary, but also because in-person feedback gives the receiver the opportunity to give their perspective.

You are 100% correct unless it’s a repeat issue or something that needs HR. The place I work had a restructure & every team has in essence a HR manager. Basically other people in the team whinge to that person, who then doles it out to the people. It’s always something petty, and they tell you about two weeks later, when it would’ve been sorted.

I understand people are shy, but we have MS teams so you’re literally just need to type and send, and you are working at home. I’m not asking someone to say face-to-face.

You don’t want to answer the phone don’t answer the phone. It’s pathetic and petty. It breeds and environment of children telling on each other for every tiny thing. Bring back talking to someone’s face.
