If your nc with family member, how have you found it, had it been overall a good choice for you ?

Been nc with in-laws for 8 years now due to their abusive behaviour
and wish I took that stand years sooner
been a very positive thing for us

I miss the relationship I had with my brother. I miss being able to talk about happy shared experiences and memories, and ask questions about family. I don't regret for one second my decision to cut him off, though.

I am NC with my mother and her side of the family (as they were acting as 'flying monkeys' and I was never close to them to start with).

No regrets and I feel so much happier.

No intention of seeing he or any of them ever again.

It is not an easy path but it was the right choice for me and the practicalities were made easier because I live in a different country from them.

Im nc with my remaining family members. To be honest its a lonely position to be in. But ive had to do it for my mental health.
Ive no regrets. But I wholeheartedly wish things were different, for my sake.
My loneliness clouds everything.

I’ve been NC with my sister and her husband, children and grandchildren for nearly 15 years. I don’t regret it all. They are nothing to me.

NC with my father. I often think about trying to change this but I just don’t think I can ignore / get over then pain he has caused in the past.

It’s harder now that my sister now has contacted again as I am very close to her.

My father gets older and with more health problems and I worry I regret the lack of contact if/when anything happens.

Been NC with my dad for around 6 years and same, wish I did it sooner, best thing that I’ve done. Seen him a couple of times at weddings/ christenings/ hospitals. Have never spoken a word since then. god he’s a vile man

I don't feel I had a choice tbh, it was very much forced by the other person. She wanted me out of the picture and worked very hard to make sure I walked away. She got what she wanted.

I went nc with my sister because of her constant benefits-bashing of friends and neighbours, and her petty revenge actions after I complained about it. I never regretted my decision.
