Count Binface is refusing to deny that he lives 400 million light years from Clacton

The Clacton by-election has its first scandal. The only man standing against Farage (Count Binface) is under fire for refusing to relocate to the constituency. His campaign's defence: he has "been entirely transparent — his address is published in light years."
The same finance site that "endorsed" him last week has the full story, including divided residents ("at least the bin's honest about not living here. Some of them pretend") and a costing of his pledge to nationalise Adele: £0, because "she is already a national asset." The regulator would be called Ofdele.

Asked on the Today programme what his appeal to voters was, he replied "I'm not Nigel Farage" — which their fact-checking desk "has examined and found to be accurate."
Ridiculous times. Is anyone else weirdly invested in this by-election now?

The candidate's failure to relocate has become the first major scandal of the by-election. Residents are divided. The Adele question remains unanswered.

It’s very depressing imo. I don’t mind binface when he is one of many to choose from and clearly won’t win ( although even then the joke is wearing a little then but whatever) but this is now just depressing. I feel sorry for the people of clacton being used by both farage and binface as they are both egoists in my opinion. And the media for finding it all hilarious. It’s a sad state of affairs for our democracy and I can’t see the “ funny” side at all

It's just bollocks. A distraction. The press should grow the fuck up and the electorate should not accept being infantilised and treated with contempt by untouchables.

Farage is getting the circus he wanted right from the start, except now he’s the clown, not the ringmaster he was so desperate to be.

I also think capping the price of a flake cone at 99 p is a vitally important economic policy.

And will add to the general happiness of the nation, which can only be a good thing🍦

In a seaside town though? That relies on it for its economic stability? Not sure. Unless it’s some sort of dairy based frozen dessert Laffer curve economics type thing - less cost = more sales. I don’t know, it’s risky.

@TheScreensNurseTheScreens

I take your point but it is an important cap for the cost of living. A bit like the energy price cap, but dairy based.

Good grief, the Mail (!) has written a puff piece about Binface. That means Farage is really in trouble 😂😂😂

Complete, of course, in true Mail style, with the price of his house.

I think Jon Harvey is as likely to make a good constituency MP as anyone. He has said he’d move there and do the best he can. And I can absolutely see him holding his parliamentary peers to account.

Remember that Zelenskyy started out as an actor/comedian….

Sorry, this is the British way and am all for it. We mock the idiots. We do it well.

Lawrence Fox is also standing. Former Actor.

Thanks to Binface, no-one seems to have noticed, which must be really galling for him.

i Was going to say that Fox standing would split the Farage vote, but nobody would actually vote for him 😂😂😂

I noticed. I call him Thinface. Then there's an British Democrat called Kai Stephens, looks about eleven, Babyface.
Frogface, Binface, Thinface and Babyface. There's a couple others but I haven't got onto naming them yet. 😂

I'm so glad you feel this way about Farage's ridiculous behaviour.

Me too.

Is Fox standing for the Misogynist Party? What is his main policy? Disenfranchising women?

Lins77 · 10/07/2026 10:20

I've never quite figured out which animal Farage resembles most. There are definitely elements of both frog and weasel but neither seem quite right.

Either way, I kind of wish he'd also take up wearing a bin on his head. I wouldn't normally comment on a politician's physical appearance, but I'll make an exception in his case as the exterior so clearly reflects the interior.

And foreigners. He's not so keen on people who aren't white British.

Whatever happened to politics eh? This is our choice.

Wherever there's a bin, there's a fucking fox.

Said Count Binface in Makerfield when running against a candidate in a fox costume.

This one's aged well.Grin

I actually think Binface is good for democracy. The fact that anyone can stand for election, no matter how ridiculous that may seem to some, is important. He is making some excellent political points amongst the humour, and drawing attention to issues such as water quality. He is also shining the spotlight on the ridiculousness of what Farage is doing.

Bravo that man. I really hope he gets in.

Totally agree.

He makes good points and he is both entertaining and sharp as an interviewee. He comes over as very much his own man.

Perhaps they should have taken thought about the wisdom of voting for a fake like Farage if they wanted to be treated with respect by their representative.

PeonyPanda · 10/07/2026 11:16

Yep, as long as binface is genuinely going to serve, and I think he will, then I think he’s more trustworthy and honourable than the others.

I like his tongue in cheek manifesto. Hopefully he’ll have an actual plan in his pocket too, but it would defeat the humour to reveal that too soon.

chaosmaker · 10/07/2026 11:52

There have been some crazy people phoning in on the Jeremy Vine show. Saying things like whatever farage does, they will still vote for him cos the country needs a shake up.
On a phone in on how much he earns from side jobs on top of his wage as a 'politician'. Agreeing with him that he's being witch hunted. Suppose we could always throw him in a lake and see if he floats!
Binface would be my choice in that line up.
