Since Yesterday morning I’ve been non stop dizzy/woozy, gets better if I’m sitting down but as soon as I’m up and walking about it hits again. I don’t have any kind of cold that I’m aware of but the other night I did get the sensation of both my ears feeling blocked, that went overnight. Has anyone had this before ? It completely ruined my day yesterday and I’ve woken up this morning and it’s still there 😢

Sounds like labyrinthitis. Worth a GP visit, they can give you some medication. You can also try the Epley manoeuvre in case it is due to particles in your inner ear. I’ve had it a few times and it often resolves by itself in a few days. It can drag on though. Mine isn’t helped by the Epley move.

It sounds like Labyrinthitis

I really hope you feel better soon!

Thank you for your reply. It could be although I don’t have any sickness or tinnitus (well that’s out of the ordinary anyway as I do have it usually)

Thanks. Do you get any sickness/nausea?

What's your blood pressure like?

Mine is always low, but I don't get any symptoms until it gets very hot, when the rooms spins every time I stand up. Dehydration causes blood pressure to drop further and I don't drink enough when it's hot.

If you are ok when still but it happens when you move, and is a swirling sensation like you are still moving your head but you aren’t, it could be BPPV rather than labrynthitis. I’ve had both, both are crap and you do need to be very careful you don’t injure yourself, but they should pass. There are movements you can do to help BPPV, labyrinthitis is a virus I think so you just have to let it pass. But speak to your gp or maybe a pharmacist.

Hi, I actually checked it yesterday along with my blood sugar and both were normal.

I have that anyway I think as for years now when I lie on my back and then my head to the left the room literally spins upside down, like I’m falling out of the sky !

Thinking about it, our toddlers are still in our bed and we have a projector that plays lullabies, I had to turn it off the other night as the sound was making my ear drums shake if that makes sense? Like a buzz

edit - typo

Only when it is very bad. My most recent bout was awful at the beginning, all I could do was lie still in bed with my eyes shut. I did feel sick for the first day but I didn’t throw up.

After years of intermittent dizziness I know a lot about this unfortunately - if you don’t have hearing loss, it isn’t labrynthitis. It could be vestibular neuritis. BPPV is typically brief spells if intense dizziness which is triggered by moving your head e.g. rolling over in bed.

My advice is very much to go to your GP as if it is to do with your inner ear, you need to get the right diagnosis.

I have exactly this. It started on Tuesday morning when I tried to get out of bed and fell because I couldn’t balance and it has continued ever since.

I have now identified that it is a lot worse if I stretch up to get something out of a cupboard or make a sudden movement. Just lying back in bed triggers it.

I saw a GP today and they were unsure what is causing it. As has already been mentioned they said it could be BPPV or viral. They checked me for Stroke but said they were pretty confident it wasn’t that.

A.t.m we are just going to wait and see if it starts to resolve and if not do further tests.

F.w.i.w I have been experiencing neck pain and some dizziness since March. Nowhere near as bad as this though. I am pretty certain the March issues were / are viral. They started with a sore throat on one side, then a sore neck that side, before travelling to the other side and repeating the sore throat, sore neck pattern, on that side. The sore neck has never gone away and the sore throat keeps reappearing for a day or two, I have also lost my appetite and experience frequent nausea since the March issues.
