Any solution for sweaty hands and feet

Ugh not a glamorous topic sorry.

From childhood have had sweaty hands and feet. Especially bad in summer Can't wear shoes or sandals without socks as slip about. Shaking hands is a nightmare. GP prescribed propranolol but was useless. Friend had surgery to snip a nerve and it fixed hand issue but resulted in sweaty back so dont want to try that. Have seen about botox injections recently and willing to try it but would love to know if anyone had success with them or something else.

Poor DD has inherited it so I really need to be guinea pig to find the solution so she can avoid this in her life.

A friend's dd has some sort of electronic device that helps. Sorry I can't remember what it is called.

Botox. It works for this.

A spray or rollon called Odaban worked wonders for my DH feet. Apparently it works by reducing sweating in the areas where it's used. Available from Amazon, or to order from chemists, it's not expensive.

I have hyperhydrosis, (sweating condition) and have battled since childhood, hands, feed, other places. I have to wear socks 24/7 and often change my top or underwear. I got put on oxybutynin which had helped massivly.
I did think of botox but it isnt long term and expensive. I tried other meds but they messed with my eyes (side effect) so iv had to settle with a low dose of oxybutynin as anything more causes blurry eyes ect.
I feel your pain esp in this weather and heat.

Anhyrol forte roll on solution. Contains aluminium and worked wonders for my daughter's feet. Used it for a few weeks then it settled down completely can buy it in any chemist. Think it's similar to odaban mentioned earlier

Thanks everyone.
@justagirlcalledlucy oh I feel your pain its awful isnt it. Haven't heard of that so will go investigate

@Musicaltheatremum @3beesinmybonnet I tried anti perspiration and they made my skin feel v strange and creppy almost like id soaked my feet in a bath for hours. But glad its worked for others.

I've also heard of iontophoresis but haven't been able to find somewhere to try before buying.

Its an awful condition. So embarrassing when someone wipes their hands after shaking mine. Feel so bad that DD has it as thought it was a me problem rather than genetic.

Miradry

Musicaltheatremum · 07/07/2026 21:28

@EMANresuNotAvailablehow long did you try it for? That funny feeling usually wears off after a few applications ...

NaturallyCuriousCat · 07/07/2026 22:00

I'm having feet problems in this heat. It's solved now by washing and drying them then spraying them, and lining shoes before use.

Some synthetic insoles are worse than others.

Blueuggboots · 07/07/2026 22:52

My son has Hyperhydrosis and takes propantholine. Not perfect but it does help.

EMANresuNotAvailable · 08/07/2026 00:04

@pickedupontheway did you use it and was it sucessful. Sounds promising with frequent use.

@Musicaltheatremum maybe I didnt use ling enough. Tried last year for a few days using one of the recommended expensive brands but still sweaty and the feeling was so strange I stopped

@NaturallyCuriousCat invisible socks are wonderful as now have more shoe options but can't wear sandals.

@Blueuggboots will go goggling as gavent heard of that option.

So glad I asked. Thanks for all the replies
