Food processor and mixer recommendations please

My trusty Kenwood kenmix 650 is dying - one of the cogs has broken and it makes a horrendous noise and slips whilst mixing. It is about 20 years old so it's done us well.

I need a new one. It MUST have BOTH food processor AND whisk/ beater functionality. Otherwise I'd just get a kitchen aid mixer. I use the food processor probably more than the whisk functionality but definitely need both.

Price is less of an issue that functionality. But more expensive doesn't necessarily mean better.

Can anyone recommend anything?

You still can't beat Kenwood lol. Mine is no longer available but Lakeland still have some similar ones.

I really don't think you can beat a Kenwood. Mil has one that is over 40 years old and still in good working condition. Mine is maybe 15 years old - saved up for ages to buy one after burning out multiple handheld mixers. Is used several times a week, both mixer and processor attachment. Blender used a bit less frequently but still often. Daughter has asked for one for a wedding present after plenty of research.

I'm interested in this too. My Kenwood isn't working properly so I'm looking to replace it after 20 years. It doesn't always start when I turn the disc and can take several attempts. Which Kenwood have you all got please? I would rather stick with Kenwood than switch.

I've had a good look through the currently available Kenwood range and can't seem to find one that's both a mixer and food processor. Anyone got a link?

I've got this and I hate it. Quite why I ever thought 3 bowls was a good idea I'll never know. The bigger containers always need cleaning every time you use the smaller ones. My inherited Kenwood is so much better. And lighter.

Can someone replace the gear that's gone?

I am using a Kenwood major from the 1980s, and mum is using a chef from the 1960s. I got my major second hand and it's fab. I then bought the food processor type attachment for it, new, and everything still fits. So if you do need to buy new, I would say still Kenwood, I think. But obviously the trouble with their old stuff being great is I don't actually own a full new machine.

This one:

Edit: (This is the cheapest of the sorts where I'm pretty confident the attachment would fit. I have a bigger one with a taller bowl, and they range from the attached to much much fancier.)

With this attachment:

I managed to find a 30% off sale for the attachments.

I would buy another Kenwood, ours is 12 years old, such a workhorse, DH uses it regularly to make dough etc. so impressed with the durability. Wouldn’t consider buying anything else tbh I think you might be disappointed if you had kenwood before.

Agree. I bought a Magimix and I never use it. It’s a complete ballache to get out and takes far longer to clean than to use. The three bowls are completely daft. I bought a small Cuisinart mini food processor to make hummus and dips.

otherwise I have a trusty Kenwood chef that’s 20+ years old and still going strong. You can get a food processor attachment for it as well.

I love my 10 year old Kenwood, but it annoys me that the attachments don't reach the bottom of the bowl. If I'm making something in a small quantity, they barely touch the mixture.

I've seen a newer model where you can adjust the height of the bowl, so I'd probably go for that once this one dies.

Which processor bit do you particularly need? My kitchenaid has attachments for grating, slicing etc. there’s others.
I have a separate kitchenaid blender which I prefer

The one I have, I think you can adjust the height of the beaters in the top of the machine, where they click on?

Thanks everyone. I failed to look at the fact you now need to buy a separate food processor attached - it ot used to come as part of it! A new Kenwood it is.
