Smaller child-friendly music & family festivals

Hello! New on here, Mum of two (3 & 6) in Bristol. Has anyone with similar sort of ages got any experience of music or family festivals that are on the smaller side and child friendly? Would love to try and go somewhere in the summer holidays, but I'm a bit worried some of the main ones are a bit too big and loud and more adult focused. We're all happy to be camping though! Thanks

Look at raver tots, mostly garage music but lots of fun things to do for the kids.

Went to Shambala once, music there was good but could be quite overwhelming for little ones. There's a really sweet little festival that's not far from Bristol on a farm near Timsbury called Wildlings festival, went last year with my 5 y/o and it was so lovely, we even got to do a trip around the farm. Also WOMAD is much bigger and on a new site this year but has been fun in the past.

Is Stirling too far away? And in 2 weeks?
My son's friend went a few years ago (primary age kids) and had an absolute blast.

Thanks! Might be a bit too far/soon though!

When our kids were younger we went to Just So festival near Stoke a few years running. It was aimed at families particularly with younger children. We had an amazing time each year and would thoroughly recommend it! Were sad when the kids outgrew it!

I’ve done Truck a few times with my DD9, it gets better every year for kids. Last year we spent most of the daytime crafting and the evenings/night watching bands
It’s near Oxford

I second the just so festival. Just amazing and we are left with magical memories. Looking forward to being able to take my nephew!

Deer Shed Festival in North Yorkshire is fab - easy to get round, loads of great up and coming acts, plenty to do for the whole family. Also cheaper than other music festivals. Might be a bit far though from Bristol

Glow Worm at Thoresby Park in Nottinghamshire is a kids focussed festival, that’s on 7-9 August.

Camper calling in Warwickshire is a good one for families. Always on August bank holiday weekend

purpleme12 · 05/07/2026 08:54

I was going to say Gloworm too

Beautiful Days, while on the bigger side, is brilliant for kids, loads for them to do. We’ve taken DS for the last few years so from the age of 3. Family camping is fab there too (and pretty quiet), the music is great and the food is amazing!
