Taking dcs for their 1st holiday abroad in 4 weeks.
What must haves do you recommend? They're 8 and 5.
I've got jungle formula and deet free wrist bands for bug repellent . Sun Lotion obviously. Couple of Inflatables.
But what little things do you find ideal to take or even things you take but never use.
I have calpol tablets , antihistamines already on the list .

I also always take towel pegs/bands to stop them sliding down the back of the sunlounger.
Water bottles, insulated ones so water stays cooler.
In suitcases nail scissors/tweezers/nail clippers, never know when they might be needed!

We take our preferred tea-bags in a zip-lock bag, as foreign teabags are often tasteless and weird. (Liptons!)

We have a plug in inflator - possibly you won't need it as most shops will inflate for you but if you bring any old inflatables with you it saves puffing away for half an hour! It also deflates so handy for getting stuff ready to bring home.

I also bring a few of the pop up canvas boxes (the types you'd put in a kallax) as I find them useful for bits and bobs. I'm away now and we have one with all our hats in, one for washing and one for toys.

I've also brought my own tea bags as I only drink one brand.

I have often found that painkillers are weirdly expensive in some countries so always take plenty of paracetamol.
And a proper first aid kit that fits in a beach bag/rucksack. DS took a tumble on gravel walking into town one evening, cutting his little knees quite badly and we didn't have any wipes or plasters on us. When we finally reached a pharmacy they only had iodine wipes so he spent the evening with bright yellow knees.
