A tape of my beloved younger sister's wedding nearly 30 years ago. It was filmed by my ex mother in law so my sister won't have seen it, I definitely have never watched it and have no way of watching it. MIL filmed it on the day and gave me a tape. Just found it on a clear out ( it isn't very big TBF)

As I was there with very new first grandchild it may just be lots of that 🤣

Sister is due a significant wedding anniversary May next year and would be lovely to wait and do a special gift then but we've a mother in her mid 80's and having lost a few relatives quite swiftly recently I'm not sure waiting is a great idea.

So.. How best to convert it so sister can see it easily and share with her family?

Ideas for when/how to gift her a recording that may well be mostly of my eldest at 5 months! ( She's now fully grown and flown)

Thank you lovely people, there's no other birthdays due until after Christmas so I can't hook it into another event.

There are lots of places that can do this and it really isn't expensive. Do you live near to an Asian community, I ask this as there must be half a dozen shops offering this service in one street alone from sari shops to phone tech places.. Lots of places online, they send you the envelope and you post the tape to them to convert onto a dvd or whatever.

There are lots of companies that will convert it to a digital format stored on a USB stick that you can play on a PC or Mac. I've not used one for a long time so I'd hesitate to recommend but do a Google search for "video tape conversion near me" and then check the reviews. The type of tape cartridge you've got will make a difference to the price and video quality.
