Air fryer virgin here - our air fryer arrives today. All advice, recommendations and warnings gratefully received

  • do I need any of the sort of thing the sell in Lakeland to make it easier to use/clean - silicone trays, baskets etc?
  • best facebook pages/cookbooks/airfryer influencers (these have to be A Thing)
  • what’s the nicest thing you have cooked in yours other than chips?

Two adults with no kids.

Thank you!

Good morning.
I buy fat trapper liners from home bargains. They fit in the drawers perfectly.
I have cooked a roast dinner in our air fryer. Twin drawer so meat in one drawer and roast potatoes and parsnips in the other.
I was very nervous the first few times tbh!
I regularly cook bacon in ours. Also a full English is possible.
Not yet had any joy with cakes... still on my to do list

There are a lot of recipes on YouTube too

They’re just an oven that cooks slightly quicker at lower temperatures and that you can’t fit a pizza in.

We’ve never bothered with liners, just another things to clean!

My experience with the various trays/liners etc is while they make it easier to clean, the airflow inside isn't as good so you don't get as good a cooking result. And the paper ones can get sucked into the fan/element of the food isn't heavy enough!

Loads of the Facebook pages are full of spam /AI.

I find the silicone things means items don’t crisp as well. I do everything on foil to help with ease of cleaning.
Clean with warm soapy water after each use so you don’t get a greasy, burnt on build up that I’ve seen on so many peoples air fryers. A quick 2 heat then dries it all nicely.
