So in work I got a backpayment 2 pay days ago. 500 pound

Set it aside as we have a Disney trip this winter! No DH as it's me kids and my side and he couldn't get time off work etc

Then we booked a holiday last minute for next month, which has including buying more clothes for everyone new stuff, shoes etc swimwear. So ive been very tight and the money is there but i did think to myself I could use half of it to help with spends next month and to pay the 2 or 3 klarnas I had for new stuff as whats the point in being proud ive got disney spends - when im in debt!

Would you do this then gradually add back to it?

And while im here - can anyone advise what they'd take to disney paris for spends? 3 days, 3 adults going and taking my 4 and 2 yo!

No judgment please, Im not always great with money im working on trying to be x

I’d be paying off debts, so they don’t increase.

Take the new stuff back to the shop and save your money for Disney. Pick up holiday clothes from Facebook market place.

Pay of debt and stop buying so much “stuff!!”

I'm not sure I understand your post. You've got an unexpected £500 but are in debt & have booked another holiday? Pay off your debts first us always the answer. Charity shops & vinted for clothes.
No idea about Disney, I'm afraid. Self catering or do you need to buy meals?

Pay off the debt first, always. I don’t really understand “I’ve been very tight, and the money is there” - it sounds like two conflicting statements. Are you having to make big sacrifices elsewhere to go on holiday twice? Your post reads as if your plans are not really affordable at the moment.

Sorry to clairfy, disney is paid off it has been booked for a little while. This holiday is paid off, unfortunately a family member on DH side passed and he got some money which was used to pay the holiday in full, so its only spends we need to take which is fine

I had just set this money away for disney but better off paying stuff off and then adding to the disney fund leading up to it!

Disney we dont have a meal plan so will be buying there we have one breakfast with characters booked x

How are you able to go to Disney if you're in debt? Pay of some of the debt and have a less ambitious holiday - it's not like a 4 year old and a 2 year old will remember the holiday by the time they're 10 or so anyway.

Also, unless you harden your heart to constant request for merch and snacks from your DC, Disney can be very expensive

Ok, in that case I would still prioritise the debt now. Build a pot for the holiday gradually.

The markup on products at Disney is huge, so set clear expectations to your kids beforehand. We went in 2017, and our girls were allowed one costume and one cuddly each. Just those four items were staggeringly expensive, I only did it because it was a once in a lifetime for me.

Debt first, always.
