Anyone tried Hoka Bondi SR for shoes wearing through inside?

I have been experiencing problems with my shoes for years. I can't say for how long. Basically within 2 or 3 months of buying new shoes, the inside develops holes in the ball of the foot area. Like craters. It's more pronounced on one side than the other. It also happens to socks but that's likely because I am waking around on craters. I don't know.

I never got this professionally assessed.

I gave this issue into AI and it explained issues like gait issues and push off issues. I do walk a lot.

AI recommended Hoka Bondi Sr to me.

They seem so very expensive and I might still end up with the same problem.

Has anyone tried these shoes. Are they good. Do they fix foot issues. Can I wear them straight away. I found a shop if I buy tomorrow there's next day delivery.

My current shoes has holes in them now and I will need to get new shoes.

Have you tried using insoles OP? Scholl do them and so do Boots. Then when they wear out you can just replace the insoles and hopefully your shoes will last longer.

Agree, you need insoles if it's a problem. Does it cause you pain or blisters?

If it doesn't, it's just normal wear and tear. I get the same in my running shoes. Always have a dip under the ball of my foot after a few months. It doesn't cause me issues so I don't try and fix it.

I tried regular insoles bought from a pound shop but nothing specialised. To be honest it still happens. Sometimes the insoles would wear through quickly and then also into the shoe too if I don't change them straight away.

There's no real pain however I noticed today the holes in the inside of my shoes are now fairly deep and it's uncomfortable.

Also depending on the type of separate insoles, I find a lot of them uncomfortable. Some of them are too smooth, others are like fleece lined and too warm and depending on the shoe if there's an removable insoles or not, if fond sometimes that can make my shoe too tight. So I stopped wearing insoles.

I’d invest the money going to see a podiatrist who will do a proper assessment, including gait and make a recommendation based on your actual feet. AI is wonderful but it has its place, and this isn’t it.

I find it hard to organise my time for appointments and now that it's summer time my work is going to be assholes with limited time off. It will be September by time I will get a free patch of time for an appointment.

The holes in my shoes were likely developing before now slowly but now they became very uncomfortable as the day wore on. I never realised how bad they were. I am in work and I had to ask a colleague for her spare crocs for the day.

I have other shoes for tomorrow and Wednesday but I will have e to order shoes tomorrow morning for next day delivery.

I’ll add a bit more as my comment may have sounded a bit snarky but it’s from experience. My DH suffers with the same issue you have and basically wears one pair of trainers (replacing them twice a year) which he’s been wearing for about 10 years. They’re very unattractive and not in style at all but the only ones that don’t do this with his feet. He should be wearing his custom insoles but doesn’t 😒
I also have (different) foot problems which I spent years trying to resolve with off the shelf footwear and insoles. I spent a large sum on a pair of On Cloud trainers thinking they’d be perfect, for various reasons but they actually ended up wrecking my feet and creating a new issue which forced me to a podiatrist. It was actually fascinating but a real eye opener. There’s so much more to your feet than you’d imagine and if you’re suffering it really is important to work out the actual cause.

Would they want to see you barefoot or can you wear socks at an appointment.

Yes, the socks have to come off.

I have quite a few pairs of HOKA Clifton and New Balance Fresh Foam trainers, and they are the most comfortable trainers I have ever worn.
