Engagement gift ideas for a friend (£30 budget, no booze)

A good friend got engaged last month and I'm seeing her next week for a coffee so would like to give a gift to her as a celebration.
I feel a bit stuck for ideas!
A lot of engagement specific gifts seem a bit naff...

They don't drink, so no champagne.
I don't think they'd appreciate a wedding planner book or anything like that. She also hates clutter so nothing like a mini bride and groom figurine etc.

A houseplant? But is that impersonal?

I thought a voucher for John Lewis, but is that a bit "meh"? And my budget is about £30, so does that seem tight for a voucher?

They are quite into their food and travel, so I thought maybe a voucher for afternoon tea nearby but it was just WAY out of the budget 😂

Groupon and wowcher often have good deals for afternoon tea.

Agree with picture frame as they will have lots of photos of their wedding coming up soon.

Failing that, a lovely vase or fruit bowl. It should be something house related really.

My mum got so many tea towels when she got engaged she's never needed to buy any for the rest of her life. 50 years. So I always buy a nice tea towel!

A hamper from Etsy?
This Sip and Paint one looks cute, but there are lots of different ones.

One of my favourite engagement gifts was a personalised Christmas tree decoration. We got engaged in October though so better time of year for that. But i love when it comes out every year and reminds me of that happy time.
I bought one for a friend last year from Etsy.

do you need to buy an engagement gift?? I never have!

Personalised wooden chopping board or slate serving board? I still have one from our engagement in 1996, love getting it out to serve cheese and nibbles. Within your budget.

if they like travel, how about a book like this?
I'd hate a picture frame (would want to choose my own) or a tea towel or something for my house, but I'm fussy
We have this book and even though we do most planning online, it's nice to flick through for inspiration a

A lot of these sound like wedding gifts. Just get her a coffee and a cake when you see her and a card.

The full version of, " something old..." ends with line, "A silver sixpence in your shoe"

You can get one from The Royal Mint, well within budget and so small if she hates it she can stick it in a drawer.

I got one for a friend, but her fiancé now husband collects coins so it was a double win.

A subscription to an interior planning app? 😂something like Interiorbox 3d or similar stuff maybe? Jokes aside, that's exactly what I got my friends for their wedding anniversary as they were planning to move to their first home and they loved it.
A plant is also a lovely idea if they like plants, nothing impersonal about it! If anything, it's super nice and would always remind of the person who got the plant!
