Opticians or gp?

I had something on my eye which when it started I thought was just a regular stye but turned out to be something else. I don’t know what it was but the upper lid was sore and weepy for about a week, swelled up and caused blurry vision in my left eye. 3 or 4 weeks on and the vision is still blurry in that eye although the swelling has gone and my eye isn’t weepy or sore etc anymore.
But the blurry vision is driving me nuts.
i’m sure the answer is probably really obvious but I can’t work out if this is a) anything that can be helped along at all or if it’s just time and will get better and b) if it can be helped, who can do it?!
Any advice?

Optician in first place. They have the best equipment for examine your eyes, and refer direct to hospital if needed. Most will have some emergency slots each day, just ring ahead and ask

Thanks, good idea. Will give them a call in the morning. No idea why I’ve been pondering this so long! Just couldn’t really work it out 😂

Whenever I’ve contacted my GP about anything to do with eyes, they always direct me to the optician.

I mean it does make sense really. I promise I’m actually a reasonably intelligent woman!

Optician. Mine did a letter for me to take to the eye hospital. Best NHS service I've ever had and the optician didn't charge me either.
Turned up at reception with the letter. Sat down for 10 minutes, was called in, treated, and sent on my way with instructions to come back if it hadn't improved within 48 hours. 90 minutes from arriving at the optician to leaving the eye hospital.

Optician 😊 you can have an appointment under the PEARS/MECS scheme, this is exactly the sort of thing it’s for. Here is a practice finder…

Oh wow, never heard of that primary eye care thing before, thanks for sharing - there are a couple within a mile from me, will call them first thing.

Chemist.

Blepharitis maybe.

Optician. (The GP will only ask you to get an optician to check your vision).

I believe a GP can refer you to a specific eye clinic if need be.

Have you checked with a pharmacist already? It may just be a simple eyelid infection or allergic reaction?

Our local hospital has an eye clinic. You can ring them and they triage you. When I rang with blurred vision, I was told to attend the clinic.
