Will Premier Inn allow two adults and three children in one room?

I've booked a stay in premier over the summer booked last year before I knew I was pregnant and we are now a family of 5. Will they allow 2 adults plus 3 kids to a room?

Most check in now are on a screen so you don’t even need to see the staff.
just don’t all go in at once. You go first with 2 kids and husband comes after with the bags and remaining child. Just get 2 room keys

Kindnesscostsnothingtryit · Yesterday 21:14

We've always got away with it but haven't flaunted it. So I'd check in with 2 children and go up the room then I'd message my husband the room number and hed just come up with the other one. Never had an issue.

ThatNoisyTealBird · Yesterday 21:16

Yes, I believe so as the little one will still be under two and in the travel cot.

It's more tricky when they get older.

How did he manage to get through the security lock?

What security lock?

Anarchy99 · Yesterday 21:24

Why don’t you ask them?

Notoironing · Yesterday 21:44

I’ve been allowed when the littlest was in a cot but not after that we have to book two rooms now

Dilemma999 · Yesterday 21:47

Where will you all sleep? The family room is a double bed then there’s a single and a smaller put you up type of bed.

Donimo · Yesterday 21:48

We did it for 1 night stay recently- twin toddlers topped and tailed in single bed and older sister had the pull out. As others had said check in is online. So no-one even there to notice. We didn't book breakfast though as thought this would be obvious and took breakfast with us to eat in the room.

It was fine for 1 night- although not a lot of space. And noone slept that well due to virtually sleeping on top of each other. Also if you are planning a cot for the baby not sure there would be space for a cot with the 2 singles and double bed. But if a newborn you could fit a moses basket or carrycot from the pushchair. But you will be climbing over everyone.

On a recent trip we stayed in 3 different premier inns with 5 in a room without any problems. We booked for two adults and two children and then added a cot as an option on the booking. The room was made up with the double bed, single bed, additional single ‘fold up’ bed and a cot, so slept 5 of us, albeit our youngest is small enough to fit in the cot / sleep in the double with us.

In many hotels you check in with a QR card at a screen so don’t interact with any staff. We also went in separately though, rather than arriving en masse!

We stayed in a premier inn in London a few years ago as a family of 5, our youngest was under 2 at that point, we stayed a week so often chatted to the staff at reception, they were aware there was 5 of us and didn’t have any issues at all.

Thanks everyone, looks like we should be fine, our littlest one will be 4 months when we go so looks it won't be a problem. We'd asked for a travel cot anyway as we were planning on using for the 2yr old, I guess myself and partner will be sharing with a child each.

Should be fine with travel cot.

We now book days inn as you get a big room with 3 single beds and a double bed.

WeddingInvitation2 · Today 07:13

We’ve done this at airports when it’s been just an overnight stay, with someone sleeping on the floor.its been fine. Wouldn’t do it now they are all grown up!

noshade · Today 07:15

As far as I know, maximum room occupancy is 2 adults and 2 under-18s. We've sneaked an extra one in a couple of times though.

Givemeausernamepls · Today 07:18

Fine if 4 month old. They generally don’t like it, and I’ve always in person checked in. I stay with my 3 DC and they still don’t like it even tho there are only 4 of us in a room!

Correction - children under 16 not 18.

What do you mean, OP, about you & your partner sharing with a child each? If you originally booked for four people with a cot, you might turn up to find there’s the standard double bed, the sofa has been turned into the sofa bed (which is a single) and there’s a travel cot. So you & your partner could co-sleep with either the toddler or the baby. If you amend your booking, then, depending on room size, they should put in one of the additional put you up beds as well as the cot bed. What you won’t have is two beds which are each big enough for an adult & a child which is what I read your most recent post as suggesting.
I guess another option is for one of you to co sleep in the double with the 4yo & the 2yo, the other adult go in the sofa bed and the baby in the travel cot

SinicalMe · Today 08:14

Just book 2 rooms. Who wants to sleep 5 in a room with a baby and one bathroom between you. Not fun.

Mamansparkles · Today 08:21

Yes, as long as the youngest is 0-2 and counts as an infant. They have set up for us before with the double, 2 child beds and a cot. It was very cosy though!
It's at age 3+ it becomes a problem.

PawMaw · Today 08:25

I worked in PI, it's no problem just call them. Double bed, sofa bed, trundle bed and travel cot.

Better to let them know so you have enough beds set up, but they will happily make up the extra bed when you get there but you may have to wait a while as housekeeping leave early and it would be left to the very busy receptionist to do when they have time.

To clarify kids are 9, 2 and 4 months by the time of holiday. The 9yr old has additional needs, he won't sleep in the bed alone so pointless adding another bed into the room. Were traveling by train and will have the pushchair in the room so space will be limited anyway. Sadly the holiday budget doesn't stretch to an extra room, it's a four night stay too.

I would phone and check. If they say yes then great, if they say no just arrive separately and do it anyway. Either way you'll be fine.

I think the main issue would you have is struggling for space with a pram and travel cot, unless putting in the bathroom. In the room we had you definitely couldn't have got both in. We had a double bed, a small single and then a pull out bed. We had to side step to get around the beds and that was with pushing the 2 singles up under the window and pushing them together. The only spare space was in the hall outside the bathroom. Honestly by the morning I was desperate to escape due to the cramped space and heat of 5 bodies in such a small space making it unbearably hot. And we didn't have a newborn who may potentially be crying/up in the night. For 1 night I might do it and be prepared for no-one to get any sleep but not for 4

You do know that plenty of people only have 1 bathroom between them at home? Not sure why that's an issue!

What security lock?

You need your room key card to open the door that accesses the corridor to the bedrooms.
