Has anyone stated at Legoland resort recently?

Hi. I’m off to Legoland soon, staying in the resort hotel. Do all rooms have a treasure hunt or just premium? Does anyone have any other tips to help make our (4 yo DS and me)stay more fun? Thanks in advance!

MY friend stayed in the woodland lodges and had a treasure hunt.

However she also had dirty bedding and bathroom. We met them for the day. Average que times 45 min to 70 min. Never again.

We stayed in the Woodland lodges a couple of weeks ago. Absolutely spotless. I’ve not stayed in the hotels, but my DH is on a FB page for various tips etc. and so these would be my tips.

  • If you’re staying in the hotel with the pool, you need to book a session. Reviews are not that great, but if he’s a fan of the water, it might be fun for him. There’s also a splash pad area, but they only get 20 minutes or so in there, so if it’s warm and you’ve got room in your bag for his swim stuff, it might be fun.
  • You get early access to the park if you’re staying in the resort. You can come out the back of the hotel, down near the lake.
  • In their little Lego gift ( which is a small bag that you can build a little cat, or a couple of other animals from, depending on what instructions you follow) there’ll be a lanyard. He can use these to collect pop badges. You might find a nice staff member who has loads of them who’ll hand one or two over, and then you can use them to trade for new badges from other staff members. There’s nothing that you can do with them (unless you get a gold one), but they’re free and it’s a nice little touch. If you go right to the top of the park, where the main entrance is, and go to the far end, with the Lego shop on your right, there’s a path leading down to a Lego lab where they can do challenges; you can always get them in there.
  • The Lego shop is hugely overpriced but there are things in there that are exclusive. If you want to go there, don’t leave it til last thing because it is heaving. I think you can leave it there to be collected but there are also lockers by the park entrance.
  • You can buy a refillable cup for about £16 and use their drink stations to top up through the day. I’d definitely recommend doing this, especially if it’s warm, because drinks are so expensive, heavy to lug about and everything is on a hill, so you can build up quite a sweat. Keep the cup and you can reactivate it another day for £8. Water is free to fill up. You can buy the cups at the sweet shop near the top of the park (on the left hand path).
  • We did two days in the park (Sunday and Monday). Sunday was really busy, but everything was running and wait times were minimal. Download the App and it will tell you if rides are closed and appropriate wait times.
  • Get a plan for the day; ask him what he wants to do most and head their first. You Tube is good to give you an idea of the types of ride. We took a four year old who wanted to go on almost everything. Favourites were the submarine ride (I did that too, it’s really good), panning for gold near the pirates (an extra charge, not really worth it, he panned for some shiny metal, handed it over and they gave him a medal, but he enjoyed it), the Ninjago ride, a little roller coaster in the medieval section, a laser ride down the bottom of the park, the haunted house and a fire engine ride, where you do all the donkey work to get the fire engine to move and he aims a hose at a ‘burning’ building’. There’s loads of other enjoyable stuff, including a train ride. He’ll be able to aim water jets at the train passengers too. There’s lots of bits that you can pay extra for (hook a duck, remote boats and trucks etc) so be prepared with a ‘no’ if you’re on a budget.
  • Food - Nobody is going to Legoland for the food. It’s overpriced and pretty grotty. We always take a packed lunch the first day we’re there (plenty of benches to sit), and drive into Windsor for dinner. The Windsor Lad Harvester is quite nice, and there’s the normal run of child friendly chains, as well as nicer places. You can order food to be delivered to the hotel and meet the driver outside but they’re often coming from a distance so be prepared for it to be stone cold and soggy. If you do eat in the hotel, he gets more time to play with their Lego.
  • There’s a land train that takes you from the bottom ish of the park to the top, by the sweetshop. They’ve started closing this mid to late morning and not opening it again until late afternoon, so don’t depend on it running if you’re knackered.

Happy to answer any questions.

Oh, and keep an eye out in the trees for Lego birds, monkeys, etc.

We were there at Easter in the woodland glamping pods and had a treasure hunt booklet and a lanyard thingy. Dd is nearly 13 so wasn't fussed.

Use the app and book early

Look at what gets really busy that he wants to do and prioritise that for the esrly entry if you have day 2 tickets too.

If he wants to do the driving thing that gets stupid busy.

Take a towel and trunks cos the water park bit is brill and quite often gets cancellations so jeep any eye in the app for vacancies of you dont manage to book.

Take your own food, the park food is poor and absolutely mega bucks.

outingmemyselfandi · 15/06/2026 22:17

Thank you. Really useful for the food! We’re booked to go to the swimming pool at 3 ish so will def head out for food afterwards.

I imagine he’ll want to go on everything he possibly can but he’s a real lover of rollercoasters, the bigger the better 😬

Op after that save your money and take him to somewhere aboard like eurpa park ,phanstia land , efterling etc . Proper professional places.

outingmemyselfandi · 15/06/2026 22:24

@Inthesummertimewhenoh definitely. He’s a little short at the moment for the proper big rides, but when he is tall enough, we will be hitting the big ones!

Take snacks and juices and pack lunch, food isn’t great and expensive. You must book the hotel pool far in advance. Make sure you go on the submarine it’s really cool!

Inthesummertimewhen · 16/06/2026 04:23

@outingmemyselfandi those places are not about the rides but the whole experience they are beautiful fun immersive places .
