Things to entertain 18month old on flight

Friend going abroad on holiday with her family, including an 18 month old and she and her DD (baby’s Mum) have been discussing entertaining the baby during the flight. I said I’d ask MN for suggestions. Apart from books, what would you take with you? Tried and tested ideas especially appreciated.
thanks

Tell her that her step count will be through the roof by the end of the flight!

Reusable sticker books worked quite well for us. I also took a bag and filled it up with a few things I thought she'd like, such as crayons, toy cars, finger puppets etc.

She used to be a user but for her own reasons no longer uses it

I’m about to move home after living abroad for 15 years.

3 DC aged 8, 4, and 2.

23 hour flight.

I’m following this thread closely!

Oh dear that sounds ominous!

Thank you. I wouldn’t have thought of sticker books for that age, any particular ones you would recommend please?

How long is the flight?

Wrapped up pound shop toys (bonus if it’s a pack of toys that can be wrapped into many packages), colouring books, sticker books. Triangular crayons that won’t roll away. If they’ll sit and watch something, load an iPad with favourites and get them kids headphones and get used to wearing them before the plane.

snacks books other passengers bring friendly

Stretchy, suction robot toys (available on Amazon) and those rubber pop-it fidget toys have been successful with mine.

Our grandsons, at that age in flights, had sticker books. There’s at least one about airports/aeroplanes. Animals appeal. Lots of lift-the-flap books too. And colouring books as people have suggested. Download fave tv progs on to a tablet-but remember headphones. They all used those. Noise cancelling headphones can be useful when landing is noisy.

We often do long haul flights to America with our 3 children, i usually buy a cheap drawstring bag, and get 'new toys' which i don't show them until they are on the plane and get new things out every 30min/1hour. We do colouring, books, fidget toys, sometimes little figures or surprise eggs, we have taken some lego in a little zip lock bag (you can get little trays that are flat and can be popped together, we have taken little discs you slot together, a really big winner last time was these rubber boards with what look like coloured worms and you put them in and make different patterns (I nearly didnt get them and even the 8 year old spent so long doing this) we take matching games (although mine are a little older) but I think the real win is that they are 'new' never seen before toys. Other people take play doh but I hate the stuff although think it can be good if your not adverse to it! I've also seen the reusable stickers where they can stick them to the window but then remove without leaving any residue.
