What colour is your bathroom?

We are trying to choose a new bathroom. It hasn’t been redone for 20 years. The choice is overwhelming. I’m almost tempted to go for white ‘furniture’ and keep it neutral with tiles as it’s a fairly small bathroom and I feel darker furniture might overwhelm it and make it look smaller.
however we had been considering a navy colour for the ‘furniture’ (bath panelling, cupboard around sink and toilet) with pale / neutral tiles. I’m worried that I might end up not liking it though as it’s so bold.
I’m just looking for inspiration really. Anybody happy to share photos?

Still think about the light, ours is white tiles grey floor and it's north facing so feels really gloomy! I even painted walls pink but it hasn't really warmed it up...

White suite, pale greige tiles, navy blue walls, orange blind, towels are orange, navy or lime green depending on who's towels they are.

Tiny bathroom that is in fact a shower room...

White shower, loo and basin. Chrome fittings. Vanity and wall cupboard are (look like) bent plywood. Three white tiled walls. Patterned grey & chalk floor tiles. One very orange wall (Valspar swan beak). Black bath mat and hand towels.

We had ours done about 18 months ago. If you're having a vanity unit, I'd go for white - I'm finding watery toothpaste marks on our (just had sink before) and it'd show up far more if a colour.

White with black accents.
Then I add colour with accessories. Im not really into interior design and would rather have something that will look inoffensive for many years!😁

White bath, shower and toilet. Bath panel white. Floor tiled white. Pale blue tiles around bath / shower. Sink is dark blue and white Moroccan style on wooden countertop on white vanity. Dark blue old fashioned radiator.

Griege floor, metro cream tiles halfway up the wall, olive paint on the upper half, and white porcelain ware.

WhatsitWiggle · 13/06/2026 14:41

White. White gloss cabinets. White tiles with a grey/silver faint fine stripes (so it looks white but isnt completely plain), black/silver mosaic vertical strip behind the shower. Black sparkly floor tiles.

Its already 10 years old and still looks good. The towels are bright colours.

ChimpanzeeThatMonkeyNews · 13/06/2026 14:52

White. Like a Fox’s Glacier Mint.

Has anyone had their bathroom done by an Edinburgh firm? I need someone to measure and plan as well as install and supply. I’m too afraid of making mistakes.

Thanks so much for all the messages. Really helpful.

The loo and basin are white, white roll top bath, vanity light grey, moss-green tiles to dado level and pinkish brown paint above that. Floor tiles are a sort of faint patterned green on off white ground.A couple of wooden shelves. Lots of plants.

TheeNotoriousPIG · 13/06/2026 20:34

The suite, tiles and bath panel are white (for which I am eternally grateful, considering the, erm, 'DIY' and style choices available in the rest of the house when I moved in), with a mock-wooden lino floor and green walls.

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 13/06/2026 20:43

White suite. No bath so in the shower dark grey marble effect panels with a bronze vein. So bronze taps and shower. Black undersink cupboard.(This though is a pita because trying to find accessories that are bronze is tough) Pale grey on the other walls and floor. I have 3 sets of bright towels to lift it. Its a tiny room, but a big light up vanity unit opens it up.

Lindy2 · 13/06/2026 21:09

A white suite. White tiles (full wall). A black and grey mosaic strip of tiles running as a bit of decoration around the middle of the walls.

I was going for something that hopefully won't date too much. It's 10 years old now and still seems pretty fresh looking to me.

Most bathrooms are very bland and boring.
If the tiles, walls and woodwork are all white (as well as white sink, toilet, shower/bath) the whole room just feels so cold and clinical.
Ditto grey/cream/neutrals. I think some colour is essential to give the room personality and warmth.

We recently redid our bathroom; it's north-facing and quite big so we needed warm tones. The sink, toilet and bath are all white but the vanity unit and floor tiles are a warm oak, and I went for warm-toned colours on the walls - most of the tiles are a warm blush pink and the walls are painted the same colour; we also have some rich green tiles. It was hard to find the right colours and I ordered a LOT of sample tiles before finding them!

I’m going to be doing my bathroom soon, mostly to replace the bath with a shower (there is a bath in another bathroom). I can use our local pet builder, who I really like, but I’m wondering if I’m missing a trick. Are there bathroom supplier equivalents to Howdens, Wren etc?

reluctantbrit · 14/06/2026 08:18

White suite, dark granite sink top and window sills.

Blue mosaic around the bathtub and as a feature in the walk-in shower.

Pale tiles 1/2 around the room and walls painted in a hint of blue.

Garfieldloveslasagnepie · 14/06/2026 08:36

This is ours. Very neutral. I use beige towels in 2 different shades and change them all at the same time so there’s only ever one colour on the go.

I keeps things simple and uncluttered. Toilet rolls are stored in a wicker basket out of sight and the towels are folded on top of a tall cupboard.

white suite, white tiles and a charcoal and white patterned floor.

Ginmonkeyagain · 14/06/2026 10:30

Our bathroom is quite little so I kept it neutral and simple.

White sanitaryware and cupboards, with chrome fittings.

White metro tiles - we went with fully tiled walls - with a shoulder height 1930s style decorative border (dado tile, rope tile and finger tile) in cobalt blue and a black and white chequerboard tiled floor.

I've picked up the blue theme with a blue and white whale pattern blind, blue storage boxes for make up, blue tooth mug and soap dish and blue plant pots - we have a large shelf between the toielt and window which has become a bit of a plant jungle. Slightly different blues so it's not to "matchy matchy".

Towels can't be fucked match those, so whatever is clean. Currently a soft grey.

Mrscharlieeeee · 14/06/2026 10:37

We’ve just done ours. We have Love tiles in Elan beige on the walls and the same tile in the large porcelain version on the floor. The furniture is walnut (wall mounted sink unit and built in toilet). We have mixed metal fittings (brass and antique silver).

We’re now on with our en-suite and my brief to our designer was the ministry of magic. It’s dark green tiles, dark wood fittings and floor, gold swan bird taps and a Victorian style shower and towel heater.

OverlyFragrant · 14/06/2026 10:46

A dusky pink, colour drenched. It looks amazing.

Davros · 14/06/2026 12:52

@Mrscharlieeeee your style sounds right up my alley
