Waking up every day with a stiff neck- which pillow do I need?

Just that- I am a side/front sleeper which I know is probably to blame, but I turn over in my sleep and can't break the habit.
Has anyone found a pillow that helps?

Watching with bated breath I feel like I’ve tried every pillow out there. I’m a back/side sleeper and restless too. I wake up multiple times a night because of my neck. My current pillows are the premier inn ones in firm which are the best I’ve tried so far and my neck isn’t quite as bad in a morning.
i tried the moulded memory foam ones, cost a fortune and I didn’t rate them at all

Maybe it’s not the pillow that’s causing this, it could be your mattress. I was the same, side, front sleeper, always had a stiff neck and couldn’t find a good pillow.
I changed my mattress to a firmer one and the problem has gone instantly.
I now think my mattress wasn’t supportive enough and was causing my shoulders to sink into the bed causing my head to rest at a sharp angle.

I’ve had success with similar pillow to Mrsbowes above following longstanding next and shoulder pain. I used to sleep with neck very scrunched up to shoulder (unintentionally!) and this pillow prevents it.

I used to have the same problem but I use one like this now and it made a massive difference:

Thank you for the link. Which option should I be looking at? There are a couple of different shapes?

I prefer two down/feather pillows, not too overstuffed. It’s important that they can easily be squished, or they’re as bad as every other bad pillow.

The one I have has a larger and smaller curve

I’m a side/ back sleeper and have this from ikea. I’ve been tempted to take it on holiday. If I don’t have it with me I just use one pillow.

I'm also a front sleeper which has caused me loads of back problems. I bought a new bed which helped a bit and a new sofa (!). As well as back problems I always got neck pain and shoulder pain if i slept on my side. I bought a Groove pillow which wasn't hugely expensive and it has been amazing. Because it has a dip in the middle it sort of encourages you to sleep on your back or side, rather than your front.

I bought the adjustable one which wasn't a lot more expensive - though I've actually found i don't need to add the adjusters. But I'm glad I did as I might have needed them. It's made a huge difference, more than my expensive John lewis mattress 😳

Groovepillows.co.uk they also have a 100 night free trial so might be worth a go.

Super thin feather pillow for
my neck helps

Side/front sleeper here too. I’ve dumped pillows altogether and sleep with a cushion instead…nothing special just a bog standard square cushion - and it has changed everything! Zero pains now and sleep entirely undisturbed. When on from I can get arms up/over head without the side/s of pillow getting in my way…wish I’d done it years ago.

Shredded memory foam for side sleeping. They usually come with a zip so you can remove lots of the filling so it's quite flat but still soft. I find front sleeping is best without any pillow.

I got the Ergonomist one about a month ago after months (years?) of waking up with headaches, sore/stiff neck and a stiff shoulder. It took about a week to get used to but the shoulder problem has gone and I don’t wake with a headache. My neck can still be a bit stiff but might need it looked at as I’m not sure it’s just pillows causing the problem.

Panda bamboo pillow. Game changer

Levitex was the one I settled on after trying loads and still suffering with stiff achey neck and shoulders. They do a travel version too which I take camping.
I was seeing a chiropractor and doing various neck and shoulder exercises for mobility and strengthening too which I think deffo helped. Slacked off with the exercises a bit but still use the pillow.

A wool pillow with removable stuffing is what worked for me. Not cheap, but I can honestly say they are one of the best things I have ever bought. I got mine from the Woolroom.
