Recommendations for an off lead dog walk near Cambridge

I'm looking for somewhere that's nice for an off lead dog walk near to Cambridge.
The dogs will have been in the car for a couple of hours so somewhere they can have a good run around and ideally get in some water for a cool off would be great if you have any recommendations please?

Gog Magog Down, there is a loop made for dog walking which is all fenced in and secure

Agree with the Gogs. Also Wandlebury which is nearby is nice and sometimes has a coffee truck and has toilets too which might be useful for the humans. Neither has water though. On the other side of Cambridge is Milton Country Park which has a lake and facilities.

Thank you, Milton is nice but a lot of it is on lead areas only which looks to be the case for the Gogs too from what I can see which is a shame.
I'll have a look at Wandlebury.

@FreyaFromTheFens watch out for Milton because I believe those dangerous algae have been detected in the water there a week or two ago.
The Gog has a fenced loop, quite a long one, which is definitely off-lead.

If you go to Wandlebury, it's on-lead only in the actual Country Park. But, there is a secure dog field (depends on if it is free when you are arrive, you can't book), and you can access a footpath to the edge of the park which takes you up to the Roman Road. If you want a true off-lead walk then the Roman Road is amazing (footpath, not busy) and goes on for miles. Would be useful to know which side of Cambridge you are aiming for; I have a lead-reactive dog and live south of Cambridgeshire, but not so good on knowledge for other parts.

Oh thanks, yes there is a lot of algae about 😬 Good to know they can be off lead there.

Thank you, it’s a halfway meeting point so can be either side really. I’ll have a look on the map to see what else there is.
I don’t mind some on lead areas but they are well behaved high energy dogs so a good blast around will be nice for them after time in the car 😊

Which side of Cambridge?

Off Wicken Fen (either from Wicken, or Factory Road, Burwell).

Along the lode @ Reach.

Devils Dyke, between Burwell & Swaffham Prior or at Reach - as long as there aren't sheep on the Dyke (there are atm). Edit: no water.

Wandlebury and Gog Magog are on opposite sides of the road to each other so if one does t work out you can go to the other. The Gogs tend to attract a lot of other dogs but that’s a me problem! For the humans you could also combine with a trip to the Gog Magog farm shop which does coffee and has outdoor seats as well as the world’s most expensive produce…
