Body can't seem to cope with heat /sun . Anyone else ?

Just come back from Majorca , I lay in the sun for 10 mins while DS napped . Stood up and felt like I was going to pass out. Went back the room was dizzy and nauseous, had to sleep. For the next 24 hours I was physically shaking and couldn't eat , it gradually got better.

It got me thinking every holiday to a hot country I go on this happens , I get very sick for at least 24 hours when away , and it seems to be getting worse . I asked my DM and she said this started in my teens , I've only really just realized how strange it is. I can't lie in the sun for 10 mins. In the UK , if I lay in the sun for 15 mins I go tired and fatigued, I thought this was normal as I've always felt it but now realized it isn't ! I feel nauseous, shake and feel like I'm going to pass out it's awful.

Does anyone else get this ? I'm worried it's going to get worse and worse.

I haven't been able to tolerate hot weather since having my kids. 🤷‍♀️

I've started getting a massive rash everything - I can't work out whether it's exposure to water, sun, sweat or suncream or all of them. My friend just swells up, as in puffy Michelin man type swelling on her legs. Getting old is shit.

I'm only 33 🤣 God help me in 10 years . It's just getting worse year on year , I've never met anyone like this so glad it's just not me.

It's like heat stroke for 10 minutes of sun which just doesn't seem normal , I had to stay in bed for 24 hours after laying in the sun for 10 min. I don't get rashes etc , don't burn. Just vomit , feel faint , dizzy etc

Have you asked your GP? I’ve never heard of it before but I’m not surprised given we all have different levels of heat tolerance.

Take a three week course of antihistamines before your next holiday and continue to take while you are there too

Thanks , I'll give this a try ! I do take them due to heyfever , but might make sure I'm taking them everyday ahead of any good weather we might get here as well .

How would.antihistamines help?

I had similar on the hottest day a couple.of weeks ago. Really bad sickness.

As an aside I take fexofenadine daily.

I have started to tolerate the sun less as I get older. I am mid 40s. Up till 3 years ago I would be sun bathing daily whilst away and be ok.

last year, granted in Caribbean I got heat stroke for the first time. I fainted and got a black eye and fractured cheek bone. Caused a scene, very embarrassed and thanked god for sunglasses as it hid it well.

this year in Mexico. I started to feel faint in the sun after 15 mins. DP said it was dehydration. But it was early morning and I drink over 2 litre of water daily. I spent the holiday in the shade and lots of time in the pool with a hat on. I found a hat kept me cooler.

I think it’s my hormones. Hot flushes and heat don’t mix.

Yes , so this sounds similar to me . Everytime I'm abroad it happens , or in the UK if I lay in it. I'm never without a hat. Mines not hormone related I don't think as I've always had it, just possibly getting worse although thinking I remember been in bed for 2 days at about 14 with it on holiday with my DF

Hopefully yours doesn't get worse. Its just the worry of not knowing when it will happen

I've no idea , but I have seen this suggested elsewhere.

If it was just the odd time I'd be less worried , but it's Everytime I'm in the sun even for short periods . To someone's point I'm wondering if my body just over heats quicker than others , as I think if I'm in the pool etc it doesn't seem to happen .
