16th birthday ideas for son

So- DS1 is 16 soon. I would like to do something special for him. Problem is, he has autism, has only a single friend that he does not wish to see outside of school, and has no idea at all what he would like to do, if anything.

So I am hoping for ideas that he might like.

He :
-loves cats
-loves the cinema
-loves pizza
-loves photography

That's it.

I have suggested he does a photography course (he said no)

I have suggested a cat cafe (no)

Suggested a film subscription (no)

Suggested pizza party with his friend (no)

I'm just looking for suggestions that I can chuck at him!

A vintage camera or a polaroid camera? A box kit where you can develop photos? A trip to somewhere he would like to photograph with a hotel stay.

My dd is also autistic and just turned 16.

I really wanted to do something special for her, but she didn't want that, and so I just got her some gifts I knew she would love and we just had a chill day where her birthday was barely mentioned.

If he's isn't keen, and it sounds like he's not, then just be guided by him.

I'm so glad I posted!

Thank you!

My DD 27 is autistic or Adhd (diagnosed as dyslexic with quirks 17 years ago.

She too struggled with friendships and birthday parties, also liked photography, films, dogs and music.

We are North West based but things she really enjoyed were one to one DJing at a music hub in Manchester.

Jessops photography day courses, I know you said your son didn’t fancy that and that would have been my Dd’s response so I just booked for us both saying I fancied it too.

After the first one she couldn’t wait to try the others.

I see they are currently offering Studio lighting, motor sports and street photography.

Dd set up her own little studio at 17 on the back of those courses (and a great gifted camera) went on to a very supportive uni to study Advertising and Editorial Photography and now works as a freelance Automotive Photographer all over the world.

I frequently give thanks to those Jessops Photography days starting when she was 15 and failing everything at school.

I was given a Polaroid camera for Christmas and it’s brilliant fun.

Also on polaroid site they now do different types of film which is fun!
