Do whitening toothpastes help with coffee and red wine stains?

Hello

I am being blasted by Zest toothpaste adverts… do these toothpastes actually work? My teeth are stained from constant coffee drinking - and red wine at the weekend. It really ages me.

Any recommendations? I don’t want to use the strips which people buy from the US because they don’t meet EU / UK limitations.

The expensive Colgate ones (about ÂŁ10) work well but do take a while. In the short term, a hygienist clean might be a good option then use the whitening toothpaste to keep them white afterwards.

UK whitening toothpastes legally cannot work as they are not allowed to contain any meaningful % of active ingredients such as hydrogen peroxide. I used Colgate Max White One etc for years but really you’re wasting your money - I don’t think I ever saw much improvement.

Now use Crest whitening strips from the USA (probably once per month) which keeps things nicely at bay. If used responsibly you won’t have any issues - the active ingredients are the exact same as you’d get if you went to the dentist for professional whitening. The only other option is to pay hefty dentist prices.

The best whitening toothpaste I've found is Colgate Max White Purple Reveal, although it's not anywhere near as good as imported Crest strips for instant results.

Sensodyne Clinical white I think it's called. I think my teeth look whiter using that.

I use a Colgate one (red tube) it works amazingly well. Can give me a bit of perioral dermatitis though and a stomachache if i accidentally swallow any at all so it’s clearly quite strong .
