I’ve had this odd patch of rough skin for probably around a year now, been trying to ignore it but it is getting more itchy and painful recently. It has bled.
Does this seem like it could be skin cancer to you?

Looks more like dermatitis or ringworm to me

Get thee to your GP.

I recently went about three things I had: a new "bump", a freckle that had darkened, and a thing on my lip that never heals. She wasn't interested in the bump or the thing on my lip, but referred me for a dermatology check for the freckle.

The dermatologist was not remotely interested in the freckle or the bump, but the thing on my lip was pre-cancerous and needed treatment.

All of which to say -- go get checked. I suspect from what you say more likely contact dermatitis or eczema but take it to a GP to look at.

Looks like ringworm, psoriasis or dermatitis

Perhaps see a GP?

Looks like ringworm. DS had a strange, small patch for a while that suddenly erupted in an itchy flare. Went to GP who diagnosed ringworm and prescribed hydrocortisone. It did take a while to go too.

Hopefully yours will be the same/similar but a GP will help to put your mind at rest.

It looks like eczema or dermatitis. Have you put anything on it?

Have you seen a pharmacist? It looks like ringworm or dermatitis, both can be treated by a pharmacy.
