Loop earplugs

Has anybody tried Loop earplugs? Are they worth buying? I'm getting targeted ads and I'm very tempted due to interruped sleep at the moment, but curious that they could be a gimmick?

I have some Loop dupes that I bought from Amazon. They were only £5 or so and they are great. I’ve tried the real ones and I can’t tell the difference tbh.

You wouldn't happen to have a link would you please?

I’m keen to see which dupes. They were handy for the office.

Try Alpine Deep Sleep, they're very comfortable and block out annoying sounds, but you can still hear an alarm.

Didn't like them at all. Couldn't even bring myself to put them in my ears. Didn't like the feel, the style or anything about them. Returned them immediately.

My Loops have genuinely changed my life. I sleep SO much better now.

My life savers, I’m an awful light sleeper and they’ve made the world of difference I can’t be without them

This is one of the things I was wondering, if Loops would dull the sound of screeching cats outside my window through the night, but still allow me to hear my alarm in the morning?

Will take a look at your suggestion, thank you!

I think it would dampen the sound enough to let you sleep. We have a squirrel and woodpigeons that tap dance on our roof and if I put the plugs in I can hardly hear it. I never miss my phone alarm!

RandomMess · Yesterday 18:34

@Yellowpapersun they are still only 27 dB it’s just not enough to block out snoring 😭

Catsandbooksaremybag · Yesterday 18:41

I love mine. I live above a shop, and they have fans going outside overnight ten feet away from my bedroom window, and noisy early in the morning, sometimes with deliveries in the night. They've been a life and sanity saver.

My friend has Loop earplugs for concerts and loves them. I have tried them and they don't suit me as I have narrow ear canals. I like Earpeace which come in different sizes and three filters for differing amounts of sound reduction amzn.eu/d/0d3nUEsF

Summervibes83 · Yesterday 18:44

I got them for live music and they did help a bit with that but then I could never hear my friends talking to me so stopped using them much. And then of course I lost one. Overrated I think.

Fallulah · Yesterday 18:46

I’m an incredibly light sleeper but I also like the window open so this time of year when the birds start at 4am is a nightmare. The loops take the edge off that - I can still
hear it but it’s not keeping me awake.

Enko · Yesterday 18:47

Dd2 and 3 (ages 26 and 22) both use them and love them. Dd 2 in particular find them good if travelling or in shopping centres where the sound is too overwhelming for her

Dd3 jokes she should get commission on them as she has got so many at uni to buy them

brieandbacon · Yesterday 19:07

I have every type of loop. The soft sleeping ones don’t fall out at all. I’ve had to play about with the different sizes of ear tips. Each loop comes with 3 different sized tips. My left ear is small and right ear is medium! Amazon regularly have them on offer and I’ve never paid full price for them

Mine too. I wake at the slightest sound so if anyone visited the toilet in the night I would then be wide awake. Now I don’t others moving around and sleep so much better.
If I sleep with dp they don’t block out his snoring and that will still wake me, but if I sleep in the spare room I no longer hear him from there.

My DCs are adults though, I’m not sure I would like to wear them with young children I needed to listen out for.

Snozzlemaid · Yesterday 19:27

They were a godsend when I had a hospital stay. They were the first thing I asked dp to bring in to me.
I did tell the nurses each night I would be wearing earplugs as one couldn’t wake me when saying my name one night for my meds, as I didn’t hear her.

CMOTDibbler · Yesterday 19:41

For sleeping in, Macks silicone ear plugs are much better. Like others, I have stupid small ear canals and Loop didn't fit well for gigs, so I have Alpine instead which do fit really well but I couldn't sleep in them

I haven't tried them out against snoring, my old man doesn't snore thank goodness! They're good for outside noise though but I suppose that's no good if you share a bed with a pneumatic drill.

Mum2Fergus · Yesterday 21:24

They worked for me…unfortunately. As
earplugs block out ambient sounds and when when external noise is reduced, your brain pays closer attention to the internal, phantom sounds of tinnitus. Never had it prior to using plugs…but it’s a constant now.

DuckWithOneWing · Yesterday 21:41

I absolutely love mine! I have two pairs. I have the Engage 2, which I wear during the daytime. They dull loud and annoying noises, but I can still hear other people talking and have a conversation. I use them when I'm on the tube to block out the screeching, or somewhere with loud background noise like the gym.
I also have the sleep ones. My partner works shifts so he's often getting to bed late or leaving early, and he used to wake me up. But now with the earplugs they're comfortable and block out all of his noise, but I can still hear my alarm.

HoldingOnForABuyer · Yesterday 21:46

I love my loop quiets - the original ones rather than the new sleep ones.
if anyone has some original loop quiets they want to pass on, please message me as I have a habit of loosing them Grin

JunesDunes · Yesterday 23:26

Yes. I cant use the sleep ones though because I sleep through my alarm! 🤣 My husband is currently on meds that knock him out so someone needs to be able hear the children, the alarm and so to wake up.

Mancity08 · Yesterday 23:51

People that want them for sleep , don’t know your budget

i got some custom made ones for sleep for an ear aid shop, They were £66 but so worth it, took mound of my ear drum so they fit exactly. No noise from snoring hubby - bliss
I’ve tried literally loads

ItsWrittenInTheOP · Today 00:05

I hate mine. I bought them because of all the people stating how amazing they are for adhd and asd folk who struggle with sensory issues.
I bought one of each type.
They amplify any noise my head makes, breathing, swallowing, sniffing, my own heart beat, and my own voice. Which means I speak quieter because I think I’m shouting, I have hayfever so can clear my throat and sniff quite a bit, I fidget a lot and rub my eyebrows and I hum and sing to myself when pottering about, the sound when wearing the loops was way more distracting and harder to deal with sensory wise than the general noise of the world. Best thing I’ve found for that is my noise cancelling AirPods that adapt to let more or less noise through based on if I’m having a convo or not.

For actual sleep, the quiet ones were ok, I have to stay in hospital often and they work ok for that, they don’t block out all noise and I’m able to hear a standard alarm clock, someone talking at me in the same room, dogs barking next door, smoke alarm, car alarm going off outside etc, o can still hear them but they are muffled and further away. I wouldn’t want anything that prevents me from hearing an alarm in the same doing off, I’d be worried it means I’d sleep though the smoke alarm or the carbon monoxide alarm or vulnerable family member calling for help.
