Did your sixth form crush stay on your mind at university?

If you had a big big crush on someone in 6th form did you still think about them occasionally when you went off to uni?

Or were they out of sight, out of mind?

Nope, didn’t really think about him beyond hoping he didn’t contact me. We dated for 3 years. My most serious relationship at the time. He was an alcoholic and a big loser.

Sadly, he actually found me on facebook and reached out a few years ago. I ignored him. It turns out he was dying of cancer. I suppose he must have had something he wanted to say or to reconnect about the past. I am happily married to Dh and have zero desire to chat with ex boyfriends, but I do feel bad about it now. It would have been nice to connect with him before he died. He died last summer.

DS admitted to me that he does miss seeing her everyday at school.

But he doesn't message her because he knows she's doing really well and enjoying her own uni life.

I went off my sixth form crush when I saw him smoking on results day. I'd had a major crush on him for three years and it was like a switch was thrown. Weirdly I can also remember the exact moment the crush started.

My university crush I still think about occasionally almost 30 years on!
