We just use Tick Twisters on both dogs and humans.

A good pair of tweezers is all you need

Same - just get them from the vet!

Vaseline, rub it all around the tick, it will suffocate and just drop off.

Apparently this can make it spit nasty stuff into you.

We just use the tick twisters you can find in a chemist or pet shop. We have deer in our garden so get quite a few. I’ve dug two out of my leg already this year just from hanging out laundry. Nasty little things.

This method has been advised against for years if not decades. I remember first aid books in the 80s saying not to do it.

Do NOT do it. It can cause a tick to regurgitate its stomach contents which greatly increases the risk of Lyme disease.

Yeah I’m sure our practice nurse would love it if people booked an appointment every time they got a tick. 🙄

I wasn't aware, its just what my Mum used to do to get this off the cats.

Lyme disease is usually asymptomatic in cats. Sadly not in humans.

Don’t be silly. Almost everyday at this time of year I remove a tick from me, the kids or the cat as our garden is full of them.
