Why do people film constantly at attractions like the Harry Potter Studio Tour?

We were at the Harry Potter Studios tour this week and there were people constantly filming and I am just curious as to why?

Not taking a few family photos/selfies, or filming a few favourite moments, but just constantly filming as they walked around.

I guess part of me was annoyed by it because as a wheelchair user it is really difficult when people are filming like that as they seem to have no awareness of what is going on around them

But I was just even more curious why people do this. I can't figure out what happens to all the footage? Do people actually watch it?

Maybe they’re vlogging for YouTube or something? I don't know - I know I’d never watch footage back from something like that! Tbf I’d never go to HPW in the first place but I get it’s just an example and people do seem to film a lot of stuff, I’ve seen it at some interactive exhibitions I’ve been to.

Because if it’s not recorded it didn’t happen. I’m always intrigued as to whether they watch the videos ever again!

I did take a lot of pictures when I went although I think I only videoed the bit where you can magic the broom. It was Covid times though so it was practically empty.

Why did I take so many pics I wonder? I don't usually. I wonder if it is because the whole thing is basically a film set, so it lends itself more to looking good in pics and videos because that is how it is designed? And also because it is a film set, it is easy to put ourselves (or our kids) "in" the imaginary world, as if they are really there? I definitely took a load more pictures than I usually would on a day out and I hadn't thought about why until just now. I quite like looking back on them too.

Yes, you can sell it for hundreds of pounds a pop on the Chinese vlogging sites. You should do a wheelchair eye view you might make more than that

Oh fascinating!

@Loreleily Sadly most of the time as a wheelchair user it's just a view of other people's backsides 😬. Probably not the Harry Potter tour people would be hoping for

(Although the staff there were amazing and helped me out a lot to enjoy the experience)
