I'm in my conservatory spot with my first cuppa of the day, before it gets too hot to sit in here. The cats have had breakfast & are bird watching out the windows. I don't know why they insist on sitting in here when it gets really hot though 🤷‍♀️.

School have just text to say that today's revision session is cancelled so dd2 can stay asleep until she wakes up - it's hopefully done her some good taking most of the weekend off revision!

Dd1 didn't text me she was home safely from work yesterday so I'm waiting to hear from her - she usually does but might just have forgotten.

While I wait, I'll drink my brew then potter about at various jobs. I'll water the plants before it gets too hot outside shortly

The rest of the day, I want to get a first coat of paint on the hallway, take up a pair of trousers, list a few things on Vinted and design dd2's leavers shirt. I need to do a Tesco order too but will probably do that tonight.

If I get all that done, I'll try and finish Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, so I can start one of the new books I picked up in The Works with dd2 on Saturday.

Tea will probably be something light and salady again 🤔, maybe with a cider or frozen cocktail for me.

What about all of you? 🌞

What a lovely thread! Don't know how I've missed these for so long.

We are having a garden day. Mixture of garden tasks and gentle fun activities. I went to B&Q first thing for some plants to top up window boxes. DH has cut the grass. DD is creating characters with pencil crayons whilst lying on a picnic blanket in the tree shade.

We lean into wildlife gardening so we are surrounded by buttercups, daisies and forget-me-not. DH only mows half the lawn. Lots of bird song. Can't think of anywhere I'd rather be today.

@rachrose8 if you are sending your DH to the tip, are you intending him to stay there? Or to come back? Just wondering....

Good afternoon lucysmam and others. My dd has the Bank Holiday so my services as childminder werent needed today. I tidied up the kitchen then went to work in the school library where i volunteer a few times a week. Back home, and i have been very lazy, reading and scrolling. I keep out of the sun mainly. Later on, I might do a spot of weeding. Dinner will be chicken salad. Enjoy the rest of your day

Good afternoon everyone.

Really hot here. 32 degrees. I love the sunshine and heat but it’s a bit much even for me.

We had village duck race yesterday at some neighbours and went over this morning to help the tidy up. It’s a lovely event in a stunning garden and there were 160 people there. (No ducks were harmed - it’s all plastic ducks! And they are removed from the river afterwards.). Brought some neighbours bottle wheelie bin back to theirs having taken some of the empty bottles so we can put out with our recycling. There were a lot of bottles!

Then DH and I went to the garden centre where he apparently wanted to have brunch but wasn’t clear enough so I just got the plants I wanted and we came home. He turns into a complete pain in any sort of shop. Just walks around behind me with his hands behind his back like a sulky child. He’s been told to use his words next time if he wants to have lunch or whatever!

I have done a few loads of washing which is all dry or drying.

Dinner will be butterflied lamb on the bbq with new potatoes and salads. And a few wines. Then a marathon watering session.

Hi folks - was hoping to see a thread from you today @lucysmam. Haven’t done much today as I’ve been in a lot of pain which really brought me down 😢 DH & I were going to go out for our Anniversary. Still, it’s been nice to have him at home & we’ve ordered an Indian for about 8.30. Do love a duck curry.

Good morning @lucysmam and everyone! I was hoping you would start a new thread today.

We are going out for some milk and tomatoes in a bit. We don't need anything else but I'm sure we will come back with some other stuff.

Mr Dilemma got our big suitcase down from the loft ready for us to take on holiday yesterday, and I didn't realise that there are a few clothes in it I have never worn (too small) and I'm unlikely to wear in the next year or so (or ever) so I'm going to wash them to get rid of any slight mustiness and pop them on vinted. They are nice things so I'm hoping they sell.

No other plans for today. Mr Dilemma is still dead against going out anywhere nice on a bank holiday Monday.....

Also - I don't think I said yesterday - my sister and my niece are part of the Hawkstone Farmer's Choir which got through to the BGT final on Saturday! I'm so proud of them both. The final is on Saturday so I have my fingers crossed for them. Monday

Enjoy your bank holiday Monday everyone, if you can.

@DilemmaDelilah that’s fantastic & so were the choir! Some great voices.
