Not really a chat but a boy on a pushbike came out on to the road behind a parked van and into my moving car. Stopped straight, boy swerved, fell off bike grazed his arm and got back on his bike snd an adult he was with came over. I was in shock so didnt exchange details nor check the damage to the car until i parked up somewhere wlse. The boy and adult rode off on their bikes. I am struggling to process it all tbf. Also because we were delayed going on the journey, then delayed getting in the car, then stuck behind another car all b4 the incident happened. None of those things would have normally occured so its as if it was all set in motion for the incident to happen. My thoughts are going round and round in my head

That's frightening, no wonder you're shaken. Presumably the boy learnt something from the experience and hopefully his near miss will help him stay safer in future.

It’s a very frightening ordeal but thankfully he escaped with minor injuries. Hopefully it will teach him and his adult the importance of road safety. I hope you’re not too shaken up and your car isn’t badly damaged.

This happened to me too. Young lad came careering out from a side rd on a Lime bike. Smashed straight into my car side with a huge bang. I thought he was a goner. I got out the car and he legged it up the rd, presumably as there was damage to my car at the front. I was just glad that he wasn’t dead. I had two witnesses, took their details and reported it to police 101 and my insurers who had to open a claim. I was very shaken up and couldn’t drive for an hour afterwards. Whilst I was sitting in my car, I saw a youth come up the road about half an hour later, limping and holding on to his leg. I wondered whether it was the same boy but didn’t want to approach him. No-one ever claimed but it really shook me up.

Id call the police non emergency line, in case they try to report you for leaving the scene of an accident.

I strongly advise you report it. You can report it online to your local police force. It might be that you didn’t see them get a photo of your registration number. If you do then receive paperwork about the incident (they may not marry up the two reports) you can then confirm that you reported it.

Report it and fit a dash cam.

Its the thoughts of 'what if' we didnt daudle or if i went later which i was meant to that i cant shift. I went back to the street where it happened and spoke to a few of the houses. Managed to get cctv footage, reported it to the police and let the insurance provider know too.

I think you were wise to report it. I did the same when I was hit by a cyclist being an absolute idiot. Nobody was hurt and there was no damage, but he could easily have got my registration and got creative.
