Bank holiday weekend plans for single parents with older teens at home

What are people's plans for the upcoming bank holiday weekend?

I am feeling very lost at the moment having recently come out of a 5 year relationship (cheating bastard ex). The weekend is just empty and I need to arrange something to look forward to but I don't know what?

Due to combination of many things I don't have many friends at all where I am.

So what are mumsnetter's doing who are single parents to older teens/young adult children and live alone or with random 17 year old teenagers?

I will do what I normally do with him but w/o the pressure of work!
It’s just me and 17yo DS at home [links arms with OP].
He has a football match on Saturday. I have a charity thing over the weekend. He’ll come grocery shopping with me. I’ll do a nice meal one evening and we’ll eat together.
I’ll get stuff done around the house and garden, no doubt drive him into town and back (involving some debate about collect time).

Blast some tunes in the garden, grab some beers, snacks and a good book and soak up the sun, pretty much my plans!

Have a bbq and invite the friends you do have and your family

Plan yourself a pamper afternoon with a bubble bath, face mask and your favourite drinks snacks and tv show/movie.

An afternoon in the garden or local park with a good book or some music.

Plan a nice meal or bbq with your kids

BBQ and hang out in the garden

Check out your local events, go to a band or music venue, fun run, fete, festival or whatever you can find. Then invite all the neighbours you don't know yet to a BBQ.

Anywhere you could go paddle boarding or kayaking nearby? Always looks fun, and the weather is looking good.

Thanks for the ideas.
I am planning a trip to a picturesque town for a wonder around now. Just going to enjoy being somewhere beautiful and take my time to walk and and enjoy the place. I think last time I went I had small children so it was not a relaxing experience!

Unfortunately my family live too far away to come over for a day.

We are heading to London for a museum visit ds idea. Often I am working but I have found we have to make new traditions and days out.

Hope you have a lovely time, I love a picturesque village.

Yes thank you.
I really enjoyed my little afternoon out. The town is beautiful and lots of history too!
