Any suggestions for very dry frizzy highlighted hair that may be curly?

I have very dry frizzy hair ..if I comb it it goes to a ball of frizz.
It's dry as can be ,and no amount of condioner is changing that .
It has bleach highlights so that probably isn't helping, but she never does the same bit of hair twice with the bleach
I think my hair is slightly curly as I tend to wet it to get rid of frizz in-between washes and it does waves a bit
Any suggestions for something that worked for your hair please

I think some people use olaplex to help but i don’t know which one. Highlights are awful for your hair if it’s slightly curly, could you look into other methods of colouring?

What shampoo and conditioner are you using and how often are you washing it? It might be that the products you are using are drying it out. I have dry curly hair and have found some products supposedly targeted at this like the Garnier cocoa butter range actually make it worse. My holy grail product is the Curlsmith double cream deep conditioner which I try to use as a deep hair mask once a week. I also put argan oil on my ends when my hair is wet to lock in some of the moisture.

I don't stick to any particular shampoo or conditioner, because I've never found anything that works.. currently using the body shop banana shampoo and conditioner..I swim a lot ,but don't get my hair wet and wash about 3 times a week ..I'm vegan so use cruelty free cosmetics

I've tried oils and it just leaves it flat and greasy

Oleplex didn't do anything but Loreal dream hair does - get the blue bottle.

Also the Loreal elvive hydra shampoo is very good.

Olaplex no3 was amazing for my hair when I was having it bleached.

Are the shampoos and conditioners that you are using silicone and sulfate free? That has made a massive difference to me. Not long ago I thought my hair was really dry and it was really frizzy. Switching shampoos was revolutionary!

Well, do you want it to be curly? Or just not frizzy?

My suggestions are related to managing curly hair. I was always told as a child that I had frizzy hair, as I got older I realised that my hair was actually curly and when managed properly, not frizzy at all.

  1. Style and manage your hair while it is soaking wet
  2. Do not brush it. Use your fingers or a wide tooth comb etc while it is wet
  3. Smooth a styling cream through your hair whilst dripping wet. Follow up with a gel or moose depending on what look you want. Again - scrunch this through soaking wet hair
  4. Use a cotton t-shirt or muslin type material to scrunch your hair NOT towels
  5. Allow to dry naturally or dry with a defuser
  6. Cotton pillowcases ruin curls - a satin pillowcase or bonnet can be great
  7. Dry brushing should be viewed as an evil to be avoided at all costs

As I say, this is what works for me, you will find your own rhythm and what products you like

It may not need moisture - it may need protein. Check out Curly Girl Method for more info.

If oil makes it greasy it might be low porosity

You won’t want to hear this but when I stopped dyeing and bleaching my hair and let the grey take over it became lovely and soft and well behaved. It used to be a mad, unmanageable frizz ball and now if I dry it straight it softens into a lovely wave, or I can let it air dry in loose curls. I still get a surprise when I catch sight of my reflection unexpectedly and my hair is actually respectable.

My hairdresser used to swear that there were conditioning products in the dyes that improved the condition of my hair, and even had some mad suggestion that I’d need to use a colourless dye if I went grey. Lies! Lies!
