Which websites do you visit daily?

Spaghettijetty · Today 07:31

Aside from social media I have a few websites I visit daily on my phone - BBC, guardian, Mumsnet, sometimes house & garden.

Feels very small somehow, but I don’t know what else I’d want to scroll through.

There are other newspapers I’d like to read but I don’t really want to pay subscriptions.

Intrigued what other people’s daily websites are?

I’m interested in interiors & the art market if anyone has any recommendations in those areas?

Daily fail, amazon occasionally to look at new kindle unlimited books to loan & reddit. Otherwise I don’t really.

Rightmove. BBC. MN if I don't get 400ed on my phone.

I think I've done the BBC daily since about 1996.

This is the type of question that people should be wary of tbh. If you answer what websites you frequent, plus the ones threads that ask about mothers maiden name, where you grew up, how old you are etc, someone could use that information to guess your passwords and know where to use them.

BBC, MN, Digital Spy, Pressreader (to read the papers, and Radio Times, get it free from the library) Amazon.

Very true, I change my name about weekly because of this and AS

I have just seen the other thread. I didn't really fully understand till I saw that thread. I haven't answered any of the questions but I have seen the threads .

There are only a small few i visit daily: Mumsnet, BBC, Wordle, Worgle and Triplit, and the three local news sites which cover the area I live in, the area I used to live in and the area my son lives in.
I used to always visit my Bank website daily to check my accounts but I don't do that daily now although I probably should. It's now amongst the sites I visit quite regularly but not daily.
I do have a sub to a newspaper - The National - but I only visit that once week generally. Sometimes more if I'm interested in specific news stories.

With all due respect, why on earth would you ever share your mother’s maiden name, age and where you grew up online?!

I can’t see how sharing websites you use daily under a random username could be a security issue if you don’t habitually go giving out personal information elsewhere.

This was supposed to be a lightheaded thread , any threads that ask you actual personal info you obviously shouldn’t reply to, surely that’s common sense.

People are wary and should be because there has been an 'off' poster that did seem to be fishing for information and not coming back to the thread. If you never name change people can do AS and get years of information about you to put together.

Edited

I think it’s good to make other posters aware of this. And you’d be surprised how easy it is to link one username to another and at how much personal information people share without realising how it looks when it’s put together.
Besides, other posters probably don’t have the same interests as you. Which sites they visit is of little use of you don’t give specific information on what your looking for.

I never considered that people could share so much about themselves that they could get hacked elsewhere. Madness.

This was genuinely supposed to be a lighthearted thread, and I’ve enjoyed reading the actual responses so far. I have taken a look at some of the websites people have said - I’m enjoying the recommendations, thanks though you big fun sponge!

I literally said I was interested in art & interiors!

It can be done accidentally. Tiny bits iof information that seem harmless posters don't realised can be gathered and used. I have probably done it myself without realising.

You can sign up to PressReader with your local library, you just need your library card to log in, join up if you haven't got one, mine was years out of date so they rejoined me, then you can read a lot of newspapers and magazines for free.

I never knew about this, thank you!

There’s no need to be so rude.
If this is your idea of fun, good luck to you.

notnowmaud · Today 09:39

Why so defensive OP? Why call people a fun sponge? Your phrasing of the question is on par with similar questions over the last month, which is why previous posters are alert to possible nefariousness motive. It’s a bit like asking for someone’s favourite book, which is often used as a security question.

Spaghettijetty · Today 13:50

Wow I’m never going to start a chat thread again 😂 bore off!
