Ideas for Eurovision party nibbles

Hi, we are having a small family Eurovision night on Saturday & i'm looking for party nibbles ideas please.

Do any of the supermarkets do little cupcakes or biscuits with flags on or similar ideas?

M&S do picnic food. Little boxes of nibbles that don't require heating/cooking. They often do seasonal cupcakes too, could you not buy flags and put them in yourself.

You can get Europe toothpick flags on Amazon - I’d get those and stick them into shop bought cakes for an easy option. A hard option would be baking a snack from every country in the final

I've not done it for over a decade, I would try to get a food per country which is impossible so a Greek salad stood in for Cyprus.

We were only allowed to eat or drink the food of the country singing.

Cheese is a good one, lots of varieties for lots of countries and grapes do well too if anyone is too young for wine.

Ear plugs and a good book. Sorry, couldn't resist. 😂

Evening tv viewing in this house tends to involve Pringles and After Eights, or cheese & biscuits.

OK some more suggestions

Have a trip to Lidl for sourcrout and sausages. Put both in a pyrex dish and pour over stock. It should take about 20mins. That gives you something for Germany and Eastern Europe.

Geavalax or smoked salmon for the Scandinavian countries.

Potatoes or crisps for Ireland.

Wine for France Italy and Spain.

Fera salad fir Greece, Cyprus and any near by countries.

Olives or bagels for Isreal.

Mini Yorkshire puds for the UK.

For Benelux countries you need beer or chips with mayo.

Chocolate for Switzerland.

Ireland are boycotting, so no crisps!

Which are a staple for Eurovision.

thank you all for the very useful & easy to do replies

We’ve dropped themed food this year and are doing old fashioned party food! My 10 year is amazed at the cheese and pineapple hedgehog we’re doing 🤣

SugarMiceInTheRain · 14/05/2026 15:46

I am just having the Eurovision night food conversation with a friend for our party on Saturday night. Previously, we have gone to town on the themed food but this year need to make it a bit simpler, so I am also on the lookout for inspiration!

Taytos?

murasaki · 14/05/2026 15:51

You'd have to have GB crisps.

I'd be quite happy with cheese and crackers, cocktail sausages, olives and crisps. Although a cheese and pineapple hedgehog would be lovely too.

my friends parents used to host Eurovision parties. They revelled in it. I remember having dolmades and spanakopita for Greece, Slushies for Iceland, brats for Germany, baked Brie for France, charcuterie for Italy, Patatas Bravas for Spain, mini Yorkshires with beef for England, haggis for Scotland are the ones I remember most.

cadburygorilla · 14/05/2026 16:40

We do bring a board. There are 3 families that get together and each family decides on a country. Last year we had France, Britain and Sweden and this year we have Italy, Belgium and Germany I think. We’re doing the belgium one so we’re doing Belgian waffles with lots of different toppings

hahabahbag · 14/05/2026 16:45

Some supermarkets have printing for cakes in store. I’d personally opt for snacks from a variety of countries (perhaps not all!)

Sounds amazing, but I'd be asleep by the results!

Which is why you have a sleepover and record the results to watch in the morning.

I like the idea of three countries with a platter each.
