Looking for recommendations for things to watch/ do with DD whilst I'm heartbroken and trying not to cry in front of her.

She's 7. So far we've got the Bratz film on our list!

Please and thank you

I feel so broken

I’m sorry ❤️

Is she too old for Disney? I love a good independent Disney heroine - Encanto, Brave, Wish. Not a sniff of romance. Or something just straight up silly - Minions spring to mind!

Would also tentatively add that there’s nothing wrong with a cathartic cry which you can blame on the film. I was with the DC solo last weekend and having a miscarriage - I sobbed my eyes out to The Little Mermaid and just labelled them ‘happy tears’!

Thank you so much for your suggestions. About to suggest these to her now. A strong woman is what we need.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you. Sending hugs x

Thanks and sorry - as soon as i posted I worried that was a bit ‘all about me’. I think when things are tough kids can be a marvellous distraction, I know there are times when we just wish we could collapse and be selfishly indulgent to our sadness! But there are also times when having to keep the mummy face on means we don’t plunge to the depths I think.

Hope you’re not feeling too rotten soon and in the meantime lean in to all those strong female characters x

No, not at all! Everyone is going through something and it helps put things into perspective as bad as that sounds.

I know exactly what you mean. I've been so low before, suicidal but I cannot go there because of dd. They keep us sane as much as they drive us insane. 😁

Sending healing your way

Thank you so much. X

I watched Ron's Gone Wrong a few weeks ago with my 8 year old dd. Think its on the Disney app. Enjoyed it, and she's watched it again since.
Hope you find something to distract you during these early days. It's a cliche but time is a healer
