Question about fingerprints at airports

I went to Gran Canaria in February and did all the fingerprint malarky on my arrival.

Next week I'm going to Paris and then ont o Sweden for work. My question is - do I have to do the fingerprints again in each country or am I considered as having done it now?

Thanks.

I've had to do it for both Italy and Cyprus

Did they tell you you had to do it, or did you just queue up and do it anyway?

Yes. The system still isn’t fully operational and linked up correctly - which is why Greece has suspended their participation under a clause that allows countries to pause if it isn’t functioning correctly

We were told to do it, those that had already done it were sent a different way

The EES system, when it finally gets up and running, is designed to replace manual checking. One of the ways that this is done is by checking the passenger's fingerprints and facial features against the registration database.

On entering the Schengen area for the first time, non-Schengen passengers register their passport details, fingerprints and photo. Next time that they enter (or when they leave) they still go to the EES kiosk, only this time the machine is comparing the details already registered with those of the person now at the kiosk - so once the machine has recognised the passport, it will ask for either fingerprints or use facial recognition. If you get a new passport, then a new registration needs to be made and all registrations run out after 3 years.

While the system is being rolled out, and because of the delays that this is causing at some airports, at some borders this process is not yet fully implemented and people might be directed to other queues.

For the OP, in theory you will be checked by the kiosk when you arrive at Paris. The process is quicker than when you registered as the machine is only checking your details that are already in the system - you should not need to spend time re-registering. Assuming that you then fly directly from France to Sweden you will not be crossing into or out of the Schengen area - it's an internal Schengen flight - and there should be no passport or EES checks.
