I’ve been feeling low mood for a while and it seems to be getting worse. I just wondered what sort of things you do to try and lift you out of low mood periods in your life

Get a blood test booked to check for any deficiencies.
Eat mostly protein and veg
go for walks somewhere with lots of nature
having a clean and tidy house and being able to feel relaxed in there
sitting in the garden with a coffee and a book

I like to meet up with friends and talk to my DM.
Go outside especially when it’s warm and sunny.
l also like to eat comfort food eg Spinach Pasta, cake, chocolate ……..
l watch a lot of Reality shows on Bravo!! I just love to escape into another world and forget about my own life for a while!!
You can’t also beat a good soak in a bath.

What do you think is causing it? Addressing That will certainly help.

Go for a walk, even if only round the block. You will feel better. Do one small productive thing less than 10 mins eg clean a kitchen counter. Shower if you feel up to it and an easy read book.

I try and sleep it off. Or playing my favourite music loudly and trying to dance

Regardless of what you have to do every day, keep yourself and your home clean. Not pristine but clean. Daily shower, wash hair regularly, keep on top of your dishes and laundry. Don’t let depression suck you in. Get dressed every day.

Upbeat music
Fresh air and activity. Doesn’t have to be a run, a stroll in the sunshine at the park is good.
Light hearted audio books - I love a good murder mystery.
Face to face catch up with my oldest friends.
Book something to look forward to and also treat yourself to something small that you love-lipstick perfume, chocolate, whatever.

Yoga. If you’ve not done any before, Yoga with Adriene Yoga for Comfort and Nourishment, on YouTube, is lovely.

Exercise, my dogs, a bath, fake tan, time alone.
Recently had a weekend alone and it was absolute heaven. It was completely transformative, I was shocked at how restored I felt after only two days of ‘free’ time. I will definitely do it again!

I also find cleaning / organising really calming and I feel less stressed afterwards. Even if it’s just one small task dealt with eg wardrobe or bathroom cupboards. X

Unfortunately food, I’ve gone from a 12 to touching a 16. Start to switch to more salad variations now.

Going for a walk come rain or shine.
Clean home bedding or tidy garden up.
Cold days I bake.Bread or scones usually music on the process is absorbing and I get to eat the results.
Nap on the bed with the cat and wake up recharged.
