Hyperhydrosis Teen

My 15 year old son has hyperhidrosis. He has tried driclor and it stung him really badly and affected his skin (we ensured we used it properly and followed all directions. Saw a dermatologist who prescribed propantheline. He tried this, and it really bothered him with his mouth being so dry and eyes dry and itchy.

I am wondering if there is anyone who would do Botox under his arms as he is under 16. The dermatologist who we saw said she doesn’t do it as the hospitals she works at don’t allow under 18s.

we are in Kent if anyone has any suggestions (NHS or private).

thank you everyone.

Poor thing. I was going to suggest driclor from the title but how rotten that it caused irritation.

A quick google suggests differnt nhs trusts have their own guidelines so maybe take a deeper dive. For example i can see in a pdf for north yorkshire that you have to be 17 there. No recommendations for private derms who offer up botox in teens unfortunately, but bumping for you.

There’s a really great deodorant in a tube called AKT that has worked wonders for my sister. Give that a go.

My teen uses an iontophoresis machine for his hands. I don't know how effective it is for underarms though.
I wish there was at least a semi- permanent cure. Hand botox apparently only lasts about 4 months.

We have at work, on 17 year olds, (a private London hospital) I’ll ask if they do under 16s in clinic next week for you.
