What is the most recent thing you played on Spotify, Apple Play or other music. Music for yourself rather than just kids (fine if you are listen with children would voluntarily listen to it)

I’m currently playing Don’t Stop Me Now Queen. I have a Spotify age of 82 think because I listen to quite a lot of classical music

ETA music you and children enjoy included

You and I, part 2 by Fleetwood Mac.

It’s my favourite FM song but I it doesn’t get played on the radio much so I ask Alexa to play it frequently.

one of my favourite songs, always in my regular playlists

I’m learning German at the moment so I’ve been trying to listen to some German music to broaden my vocabulary.

Last song I listened to was Durch den Monsun by Tokio Hotel because I know the lyrics to the English version so I can try to match them up!

DH listens to lots of German stuff, lately Silbermond and Rammstein. I'll ask him about any other recommendations!

Run Away by Kanye West.

I have to try hard to separate the art from the artist but it’s a bloody great song.

The Circle Is Small by Gordon Lightfoot.
It reminds me of one particular night in 1980.

Sherlock Holmes by Sparks. Just back from seeing them two nights in a row in Tokyo as they kicked off their 2026 tour.(Totally outed myself...)

Wonderful artist. Daylight Katy takes me back to getting ready for school in the late 70s. Terry Wogan used to play it all the time.

Ooh thank you! I’ve always loved and listened to Rammstein but Tokio Hotel have cleaner vocals so it’s easier for me to understand the words Grin

franksmama · 10/05/2026 08:50

However…I’ve just looked up the translated lyrics to the German version of Durch den Monsun and they are almost completely different 🤣 probably to make them rhyme in both languages!

We don’t do kids music in this house (bar Horrible Histories songs). Last song I played was dreams by Fleetwood Mac.

Drop Dead - new one by Olivia Rodrigo.
Legit bop and have been completely obsessed - had it on repeat and singing along every time.
Am not particularly a OR fan, and am 49 so no idea why this candy floss Young Person’s pop song has become an earworm for me. 🤔
’Looking like an angel on the walls at Versailles’ 🥰🥰🥰

Ava Adore - Smashing Pumpkins. Someone reminded me of it earlier and I just had to listen to it as soon as I got home. Such a beautiful song
